listen, im not an expert on underground comics, or this particular author or anything. i come to this culture from outside it. but im gonna say something, and i mean it: America needs Johnny Ryan. He fills a gap. In the land of freedom, he lets it ring. REM sang: "Lenny Bruce is not afraid." well neither is Mr. Ryan. and we should be glad of it. i probably wont be around when our first Pakistani-American female President awards this artist at the White House, but you can tell them all i told them so. Also, FANTAGRAPHICS, PLEASE PLEASE put out a lovely hardcover of Prison Pit because you know we cant find the damn thing, and i dont think i have ever seen a funnier comic book in my life. Go Johnny Go.

I bought this for my fiance's Christmas gift .He loves it!!

I am biased as I enjoyed reading the Angry Youth Comix when they were coming out and am big fan. The comics held within this tome will make you laugh at things you probably thought you couldn't laugh at anymore. No taboos are left sacred. No racial joke is too ludicrous. None of it makes sense and I like it that way. There is no waffling with this book. If you don't like this sort of over-the-top humor you won't make it 5 pages in. But, if you're like me and you enjoy laughing terrible things presented in a hilariously mind warping way please buy this book. You won't stop laughing until someone asks you to explain what you're laughing at...

Collect comics? Underground/Indie? This is essential. Did I spell that correctly? heheh. Really though. This collection is insanely great. Get it.
