Good budget crash
I recently ripped Meinl a new one in a review for their "china" cymbal (horrible junk, avoid at all costs), so I thought it only fair that I leave a positive review for a cymbal I actually like. I've used Meinl before, in fact my hi-hats are theirs and I love them. I'm no cymbal snob, I'll look for something cheap and buy it if it sounds good. I mean, I'm playing mostly in smoky bars to inebriated crowds, not in concert halls or recording sessions. Hence why I tried the Meinl china type, it was cheap - but it did not sound good. This 14" medium crash, however, looks and sounds great, in my opinion. The finish is brilliant, and it looks fantastic under the lights. My other two crash cymbals are a Zildjian 16" S medium thin, and a Sabian crash/ride (see, no snob!). This Meinl crash fits right in with my others with a bright impact and fast brilliant wash. Sounds amazing when "double crashed" with either other cymbal, as it provides this high end and faster decay. No idea how long it will last, but Meinl offer a 2-year warranty (against "defects in workmanship", so not sure how that will play out if the cymbal cracks during use, but maybe we'll find out!), and I'm not a super heavy hitter (though I did break the two previous Sabian B8 crashes I replaced with this). So far I'm happy with this Meinl 14" crash, it's a nice sounding mid-level crash at a good price.

Pleasantly surprised.
Great price, and great sound. These two never cross paths when it comes to cymbals until now. The new classics "custom" have a great brilliant finish similar to a Zildjian A custom, and they have a great bright sound followed up with a quick decay. Again much like an A custom.I play professionally in a touring band, and these also hold up well on the road. Just maintain them like you would for any other cymbal and you will be good to go.I am certainly planning on getting more of these because for the price and sound, you just can't go wrong.

Great value for great sound!
The Custom Classics give a more sharp and sustaining sound especially for a lower priced cymbal. As opposed to its other competitors, you cannot beat the value and sound these cymbals have!

Beautiful Crash Cymbal from Meinl!
I really enjoy the bright sound from this 18" crash. I pair it in the front of my kit as my two main crashes along with the Meinl Classics Custom Medium 18" crash. A great sound and easy to play. Meinl did well here!

Good sound, good deal
I needed 2 crashes in a hurry, and I'm pleased and surprised at how good these sound, and at a very fair price.

Bottom Line: Best for the price range
Still use these to date. From one drummer to another, these are bottom line the best for your money. Better for rock/metal as they're thicker, but not invincible (use cheap beaters for practice) These are Meinl's signature middle grade cymbal series. Far above beginner, but not their fanciest or most expensive.
