I honestly didn't like the idea of going to see this movie at all, and the result was quite different than expected. There I was: A person that dislikes the movies from Mexico (my country), about to watch a Mexican movie, that I was sure was gonna be total crap, so If you are like me about this movie read what follows. The movie begins, and the first thing that caught my attention was the Warner Brothers logo, that put me in a skeptical mood, so it was running and for my surprise, it was really good, then it was becoming excellent, at the end I was with mixed feelings, I loved the movie and hated myself for not watching this movie beforehandWhat I loved about this movie, was first of all: -The characters: I really loved what every character represented here, like the hipster kid, the stuck up girl, the "oh my gosh my ideas are awesome because I think i know people” kid, the hypocrite sold friends, the real world people (you know, the people who lives in the real world), but my favorite was the father, that man knows how to give a lesson (I won’t spoil it).The way the plot was used I am going to be honest here, the plot is a cliché, from the moment the movie begins, if you have enough brain cells, you know the plot, but what I liked was the way it was evolving, to be honest it was a "original" way to go trough the plot that we all know. I really can not express myself as I wish I could but I hope you get my point. I just saw it, i would see it again, it's definitely worth checking out.

A very funny, smart movie any age and any culture can enjoy. A must-watch for understanding modern Mexico. I loved this movie.
This is a very funny, engaging movie about a self-made Mexican magnate who realizes that the advantages he has lavished on his three adolescent children have turned them into spoiled brats. His beloved wife died young, leaving all of the parenting to him, and a nanny, Margarita, who to the filmmaker's credit, they turn into a full character, making the movie more interesting. The kids are hilariously frivolous and celebrity-obsessed hipsters; also inconsiderate and lacking empathy about the social inequities that make their lifestyle possible. Realizing that they are likely to grow up into the kind of lazy slackers they hang around with, the father decides to teach them a lesson, and a comic farce ensues. In the end, the father learns a lesson too. I would recommend this movie to families, because it will be very funny to children of any age, and anyone who has suffered the loss of a parent through death or divorce would like this. For adults, it is a biting social critique, and a cautionary tale for any culture about raising children of privilege anywhere. It would be a fun date movie too.

Must have!
I was taking Spanish 101 and the teacher recommended that we watch movies in Spanish to help our memory. I turned on the Spanish channel and this was on. I only saw part of it and fell in love with the movie. I ordered it on my Amazon Fire box and had it on repeat for both semesters. After awhile you start understanding who is talking, who they're talking to and what they're saying.I passed Spanish 101 and 102 with A's and I watched this movie a million times!I purchased this DVD as a gift for my Spanish teacher.

Typical Mexican story of the mega rich vs. the super poor
This movie is funny but you kind of have to be familiar with Mexican (Latino) culture to get it. It just seems to be the typical Mexican story of the mega rich vs. the super poor like their telenovelas. The main reason I watched this movie is because it stars Luis Gerardo Méndez and Ianis Guerrero from the series Club de Cuervos and Karla Souza from How to get away with Murder. They are great actors and the movie is enjoyable but its just the same story over and over again: the filthy, spoiled rich kids that become poor and learn life lessons. I would recommend it but wouldn't get my hopes that is going to be a great movie.

This is a great comedy movie that fairly describes the current and modern Mexico (but also applies for most of Latinamerican societies) including different points of view like rich people lifestyle and poverty. It also provides a great human experience about family and personal values.

Great film not good quality if have to convert to PAL though
The film is funny enough, however as its Region 1 and made for American NTSC - my multi region DVD struggled a bit. Played it well but the image converted into PAL is not the most pleasant. Its not the DVDs or manufacturers fault though, therefore 4 stars. If you speak spanish and/or love mexican comedy this is definetly for you! Too bad this cant be bough in UK as region 2...
