So Far, So Good
I have taken other Betaine Anhydrous Trimethylglycine supplements, in Powder form;and peeeeeee-yooooo! that powder stank and upset my tummy. Shooting for that 1.5-3grams daily intake, I was spending more time. With these pills, Came Sealed. Upon opening, a slight slight scent, but nothing to complain about. Capsules went down smooth, and no 'burps' or 'bad breathe' from digestion. No stomach issues, even when taken with just water.Bottle recommended dose is (2) pills at a time; I take (1) pill at a time and space out through the day. Usually taking about (6) capsules total. So far have not experienced any negative effects, but I will continue to take.

I love there's no additives, don't like clear plastic bottle
It's not recommended, supplements in clear containers because light, especially sunlight, degrades them. I took away a point for that but I love that they don't use additives and it's as affordable as any other brand. These do sometimes make me sleepy at first, and it might be due to decreasing homocysteine as I have the ++ MTHFR variant. You can take it at bedtime if it makes you sleepy.

Be aware
Product had a horrible fishy smell. First dose caused bad stomach pain, dizziness, and then diarrhea. Have taken other brands none of which had a bad smell or caused any physical distress. Not attempting a second dose! The question becomes, is this just a bad batch or is quality/quality control an issue with this company? Since supplements are not returnable, the integrity of the brand and their products becomes very important for financial as well and health reasons. Be sure to research the supplement companies you choose, not just go by the reviews. I will be getting mine elsewhere after this. They wouldn't allow zero stars.

Good Quality Betaine
This is a good quality Betaine. I take it for my MTHFR and low stomach acid. Effective.

Fishy odor indicates TMA contamination - not poisonous nor uncommon but not ideal
As soon as I opened the bottle I got an intense whiff of fishy odor and this has persisted - also the safety foil was unsealed which might account for part of the issue. The smell indicates that at some point, either during synthesis, or due to poor storage, the TMG in this became contaminated with TMA(Trimethylamine) or TMAO (Trimethylamine N-Oxide). This is an unfortunately regular occurrence with TMG/Betaine anhydrous supplements but I've noticed it much more in some batches than others and it does seem to correlate with lack of airtight storage.Unfortunately TMAO has also been correlated with cardiovascular disease. To be fair, all choline/TMG supplementation is suspect due to the fact that gut bacteria can metabolize both into TMAO, but it seems not great to start with the problem chemical already present.
