Nice and sturdy U-Channel Sign Post !!
I purchased this U-Channel Sign Post cause we needed to put up a sign due to a lot of trespassing, we cemented the U-Channel in the ground, it's very sturdy in the ground. What I love about this sign post is that it's good quality steel, the green paint is baked on the U-Channel. I love the fact that the U-Channel's holes were centered and lined up perfectly with the sign we used. I also like the fact the U-Channel was 8 feet tall, it allowed us to dig a hole 2 feet deep. We checked with all the city utilities to make sure we did not hit any gas, water pipes or anything else that might be under ground. All and all I feel like this was a good purchase and we have something now to help us keep this corner clean.

Heavy Duty
Believe it or not, I could not find this item in my local stores and I live in a very large city. I truly expected it to be something I could just purchase locally and bring home. That was not the case.I was so pleased to find it here with free shipping. I am fairly certain the UPS man thinks I am a nut case ordering something like this.It is very heavy and super sturdy. I bought a large no trespassing sign quite some time ago that required this type of post. The previous sign was just too small and had faded from the sun. My property includes a large section of the cul de sac and it became a shortcut for some lazy high school kids to climb the fence believing the land was public property. After many, many repairs to the fence, I put up security cameras and then started call the police. I hate to be that person but I was tired of paying out of my pocket for the repairs. They told me to put up the sign so there was no question it was private property.Sure enough, there has been no more broken fencing but I want to keep it that way with a better sign. This post should last a very long time.

Dual flanges worked great for staggered screw pattern vs. unistrut for wood boards on a stone wall
My project was to mount 1x8" stain grade boards to a stone wall. For some reason I wanted to avoid aligning the mount screws directly over/under each other, so the dual-flange of a sign post occurred to me. It's a decent substitute for unistrut, if you don't mind drilling carefully into a fairly narrow flange.Unlike me, you'd want to plan ahead and pre-drill the outside holes to be accessible during installation as you stack one board above the next (or working from the top, below the next). I hit 50/50 odds and had access to my backing nuts on the right-hand post but not the left-hand. But since the boards are in place already now, I'll just drill the post flanges in place, a little set off from where they are now, and tap the holes for my 1/4-20 SS hardware to just thread itself with no backing nut.

Great sign post
Great sign post, used four of them, drove them into hard rocky soil, put several signs on them. Also used three of them laid flat in the gutter at the end of my steep driveway, to keep the exhaust pipe and front splitter from bumping the ground. Rented a big impact drill from Home Depot, drilled holes in the gutter, and used some 12 inch galvanized spikes from Home Depot to anchor it. Strong enough to drive over, gives the tires a 1.5 inch lift going across the gutter, doesn't block the flow of water and debris in the gutter. Much cheaper than ramps across the gutter.

WOW! Not what I expected.. In a good way!
I had no idea these were going to be the same posts they use to put up traffic signs! Not sure how someone got"bent" posts, must have been run over by a semi The one-star comment on "Cheap" who are you kidding? did you expect an I beam? The coating on these are THICK, I'm sure they will rust in time as all steel does but regardless these will last the test of time.

I underestimated the pounding part
First time working with these, like some of you. Get ready for a lot of pounding! My clay soil probably made things harder, but make sure you’re much higher than the post (waist height is likely the best) and use a lot of strength, otherwise you’ll waste time and precious energy. Once it’s in the ground, it looks great!

Used to mount pool equipment switches & lights
My swimming pool equipment switches and lights were mounted to my old fence since 1998. In 2019, almost all of my fence blew down in a storm. Thank goodness the section with these switches did not. I took the opportunity to rebuild the switches/lights on supports not attached to the fence. These posts provide a very stable frame. No worries about the fence in the future.

Works great for bistro lights.
Amazing what you can purchase via amazon! Going to use this to attach to a fence post to string patio bistro lights - will work perfectly. Even has the holes to attach to the post and for the lights to attach to the top. Very rigid - won’t bend like the 2x4 I was using previously. Even comes painted green so I don’t have to prime/paint.
