Aston Microphones Origin Black Bundle Production Kit Pairing a Rock'n'Roll Black Version of Aston's Legendary Origin Microphone with The Swiftshield Pop Filter and Shock Mount Set

I’ve used this mic to do broadcasts and streaming on my YouTube channel. I also am just now using it to blend acoustic pickups into acoustic guitar impulse responses. My SM57 doesn’t get quite the sound I’m looking for from my acoustic all the time, BUT THIS THING (when running into a good preamp/post preamp emu.) WORKS WELL on acoustic blending with pickups to get a FULL acoustic sound! Minimal EQ necessary so far. GREAT for vocals, and works well with my SM57 to blend for my Marshal cabinet! (I don’t have many points of comparison, as I’m not a mic collector or a 20 year experienced studio audio engineer or anything, but THIS SOUNDS GREAT!) Only thing is, after watching reviews, I kinda want the Aston Spirit now instead…. But that’s just me wanting to put myself into option paralysis and Gear Acquisition Syndrome… 😆 If you have the money, SERIOUSLY consider getting the upgrade. It will be a multi-recording tool with MORE options and a bit more “body” and “resonance” compared to this it seems from reviews. I got this on a BLACK FRIDAY bundle deal with the pop filter (which looks bad-ass! BUT it isn’t always necessary) Look into tube preamps, or plugins to color/saturate this for vocals, as clean digital preamps IMHO make this sound a bit “bity/harsh” or “super clear” if you will. When using it for broadcasting, I didn’t need the pop filter because it’s steel mesh and wavy guard design already has one basically built in for using it at a further distance for streaming games. I’m not returning it that’s for sure! 👍🏻 Great addition to a studio for many applications! You will need an xlr audio interface with 48v Phantom Power for this to work. It is NOT A USB microphone. All condenser microphones require that in case you didn’t know. Superb Microphone for the price I got it for. Next up to my collection is a Melon Audio Hehe 🙃

The fact that the mic has a built in pop filter and still comes with another external one is a big plus. The recording quality is crisp and clear. Sadly, I bought mine for almost $300 and the price went down to $200 right after. But it was still worth the price either way.

I really like this mic. I have the Origin and Spirit as well, and both have very nice open and clear sound, with a small amount of coloration, giving them each their own personality. Nice feel, solid build. These mics, when used correctly are impressive sounding. Please ignore the review that says they sound terrible; it's likely that person has an issue that should not be blamed on this excellent-for-the-money mic. Have fun!

Love love love this mic! I tried it out ar a guitar center before buying it and wow was I impressed! This mic delivers great recordings for the value. I love that I was able to get it as a bundle and I do not regret my purchase!

Can’t believe I got this deal. I purchased another bundle a la carte and paid an extra $70. This one is even more cool because it’s blacked out, unlike my other Origin which has the brush stainless steel. Looks great in my studio and syncs well with my other mic.
