Buy Peavey JD-AG1 Black Jack Daniel's Acoustic 6-String Guitar: Acoustic-Electric Guitars - desertcart.com ✓ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases Review: I ordered this for delivery to Finland, was delivered quickly and extremely well packaged (always a concern when shipping delicate items) and the price when i bought was very attractive. I am not a hugely experienced player but I have friends who are and I'm also taking tuition from a guitar school so i will give you my opinions and theirs. Also as background I also have a ESP LTD M50 electric guitar which I began learning on. The JD-AG1 appealed to me as I wanted to learn how to play better on acoustic, but I also wanted the facility to plug it into the amp via the Piezo. When i received the guitar i thought it looked amazing and really exceeded my expectations based upon the photos on desertcart. The guitar looks lovely, finish is high quality and the gloss black paint and inlays on the fretboard really add to it. I gave it a tune and started to play however and it did not sound great - there was a lot of buzz coming from the lower strings and the sound wasn't anything to write home about. My tutor had a look and put my mind at rest by saying that he thought the guitar was a good buy but that the stock strings looked to be of poor quality. He suggested I restring it and to give it another go. I invested in a set of DR Dragon Skins (coated) and set it up. The difference was mind blowing, it now sounds fantastic, lovely clean yet warm sound with no buzz, also i have noticed that it holds tune much better than before. To be honest I rarely play my electric guitar these days. The tutor and several of my guitar playing friends have all commented on what a nice guitar this is and one friend is keenly watching the price on desertcart! The Piezo pick up works well and the plug is located right at the bottom of the guitar. You can also fit a strap to this guitar quite easily using the planet waves clip or similar. Peavey do a JD branded strap although I opted for a more colourful option. The JD branding is a nice feature and looks pretty cool (it definitely catches peoples eye and interest) and is a major reason for collectors or serious fans to purchase. However I went for this as for the price it seemed to cover everything I was looking for: Acoustic, good looks (I like the black guitars!), good brand (Peavey) and the Piezo so I have the option to plug it in. I would not hesitate to recommend this guitar! Review: Sehr schönes Produkt

Lieferung innerhalb 3 Tage.

This is my first guitar so probably not the best qualified to give a detailed review as I lack the reference points of more experienced players. However, as a beginners guitar, this is a really nice piece of kit. It looks great, the sound is deep and resonant, the sustain is very pleasing, and the build quality is much better than I expected for its relatively modest price. The guitar is very nicely presented, with a consistent finish to the lacquer colour and depth, and the detailing is accurate, clear and contemporary. The fret markers aren't genuine mother of pearl but I wouldn't expect them to be at this price point, and unless you're squinting at the guitar from inches away, you can't tell the difference and it doesn't matter, as the overall effect of the styling is the same. I was a little disappointed that the tuning keys are matt black plastic rather than metal or with a gloss black finish to match the head, but it's not the end of the world. The fret board and bridge are a consistent matt varnished dark wood which offsets the gloss back body to create a pleasing contrast. The reviewer who said he had finger marks, plastic frets and other quality issues should return his guitar for an exchange if he hasn't already, as none of these deficiencies are evident on my copy. However, I would absolutely concur with other reviewers' comments about changing the strings, as the top string on my guitar snapped as I tuned it for the first time, well below the required tension. I had all the strings replaced with D'Addario Phospher Bronze at the recommendation of my local music shop - a good midrange string set that's a world away from what the guitar came with, and perfectly adequate for my modest needs. The dropped star is for the strings and the tuning peg materials, but overall I am extremely pleased with the product and I believe it represents very good value for money at the price I paid.

I was extremely disappointed with this product. The guitar components do not match the description or the photograph shown. Some of the hardware is plastic/ rubber and not chrome The paint work is black all over except for a thin white line instead of the entire side being white and there are smudged thumb prints of the white paint under the lacquer on the black parts of the guitar. The inlays on the fret board are not the same, they are much smaller, there are too many, and they look plastic. The entire fret board and inlays were covered in smudged glue/ varnish. The overall appearance of this guitar is cheap looking and very poorly finished. I would not describe this item as a collectors piece.
