Great product!
Great quality, easy to sew, very effective, no odor. Cuts very straight with little effort. I added this to the back of some velvet curtains that I splurged on. In the photos I attached, the right side has the blackout liner and the left is not yet lined. It doesn’t add much weight, but it makes a big difference in brightness at midday. I think it even makes the drapes look fuller and more luxurious when pulled back.

Five Star All The Way
Hubs was having trouble trying to sleep-in (suppose to be one of the perks of retirement you know) so I ordered black-out curtains for our bedroom. They should have been sold as dim-out curtains because they did not black-out. I did not return them because they did look nice so I ordered this fabric and used Command Picture Hanging Strips to attach a panel inside each window frame between the glass and the curtain and WOW! This fabric is true black-out material. Hubs is happy and that makes me happy and a happy me gives 5 stars! My windows are 35X52 inches each so I ordered 2 yards - cut that into two 1-yard panels and used 4 (Large size) Command Picture Hanging Strips attached to the top of each panel so the only part attached is the very top. We can draw the panel over and let light in or simply remove the panel because the loop feature of the Command Picture Hanging strips will allow us to remove them and easily reattach them as we need.I also want to comment on something said in a negative review about the fabric being crumpled at one end - the fabric was rolled onto a 59" heavy duty cardboard tube and shipped in a long narrow box. I'm sure the fabric was fine when packaged, but I didn't expect the shippers to transport this long narrow tube lying down - I expected it would be stood on one end to take up less space. So yes, the bottom end was a little crumpled but as soon as it arrived I removed it from the packaging and smoothed out the crumples and rolled it back onto the tube and left it lying flat in an out of the way spot and by the time I hung the fabric in my windows today you could hardly notice the few wrinkles left and what is left won't be visible to anyone now that they panels are hung.

This is a good value priced blackout lining
I …uh….washed my old blackout lining. Evidently you aren’t supposed to do that and when it came out of the washer it looked like I had washed contact paper….everything was stuck to everything. When trying to pull it apart, all the backing was coming off onto the opposite side leaving HUGE areas with no blackout product. So the old ones were trashed.I looked for blackout curtains and they were a bit pricey. The black out lining goes behind a guest bed and covers a window that can’t be accessed so it is never opened (in explaining that it also follows why it hadn’t been accessed for cleaning in ? 18 months so I thought I should wash the old ones ) I knew no one would see whatever I used or made, so I ordered this budget product from Roc-Lon, the fact that Roc-Lon had made it made me comfortable with the budget aspect of it. After being sure the dimensions I was ordering would cover the widow or that I could make panels from the yardage to do so, i ordered it. When I received the fabric, I cut panels a bit wider and about 4-5” longer than needed, folded over a rod pocket channel and used the sewing machine to do seams for the curtain rod. Then switched to my serger and just made a rolled hem on the other edges of the fabric, being sure not to close the ends of the rod pocket. Panels complete, I threaded them on a tension rod and hung them over the window behind the huge guest bedroom headboard.Complete : Budget project fixing my ignorance to washing blackout lining. Now we are back to having a dark guest bedroom allowing our guests to sleep late.

Well worth it ... get it!
I love this Roc-lon blackout fabric. It is easy to cut, sew, glue, whatever you want to do with it. Personally I use E6000 glue and glue it to the back of the "blackout" curtains I buy. (They are never dark enough) with this Roc-lon blackout fabric on the curtains 100% of the light stays out.Another benefit of the Roc-lon blackout fabric is it helps insulate your windows. In the summer the fabric reflects the heat and keeps your house cool and in the winter it keeps the warm air in.Since I use the high quality glue to adhere this fabric to my curtains I am able to just throw them in the washer and dryer and hang the curtains right back up. no ironing necessary. Not sure if you can tell I really like this fabric. I have it on every window in my house. In my pictures you can see how i glued it on my curtains and you can see how much light it blocks.
