Unparalleled Performance and Reliability for NAS Enthusiasts!
The Seagate IronWolf Pro 10TB NAS Internal Hard Drive is an absolute game-changer for anyone serious about their Network Attached Storage (NAS) setup. After several months of rigorous use, I can confidently say this drive has exceeded my expectations in every way. First and foremost, the 10TB storage capacity provides ample space for my extensive multimedia collection, critical backups, and countless files. This capacity is a sweet spot for users who need a balance between space and cost-effectiveness. The performance is top-notch, with the 7200 RPM spinning speed ensuring swift data access and transfer speeds. One of the standout features for me is the CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording) technology. This ensures consistent, reliable performance even under heavy workloads, making it ideal for demanding environments. I've experienced no drop in speed or reliability, even during simultaneous, high-bandwidth access from multiple devices. The 256MB cache is a crucial component, significantly boosting read and write speeds for frequently accessed files. This cache has made a noticeable difference in the fluidity and responsiveness of my NAS, particularly during peak usage times. What truly sets the IronWolf Pro apart is its compatibility with RAID setups. Whether you're running RAID 0 for maximum speed or RAID 1 for redundancy, these drives handle the load with grace. The reliability and consistency under RAID configurations are nothing short of impressive. Seagate's Rescue Services is the cherry on top of an already stellar package. Knowing that my data is backed by Seagate's data recovery service provides peace of mind that's truly priceless. I haven't had to use it yet, but it's reassuring to know it's there. Installation was a breeze, thanks to the SATA 6Gb/s interface, and the drive runs cool and quiet, even during extended usage periods. It's clear that Seagate has put serious thought into both the performance and longevity of this drive. In terms of value, while it's an investment, the IronWolf Pro's durability, reliability, and performance justify the price tag. I consider it a long-term investment in my data security and storage needs. In summary, the Seagate IronWolf Pro 10TB NAS Internal Hard Drive is a testament to Seagate's commitment to quality and performance. It's a rock-solid choice for anyone serious about their NAS system. The combination of high capacity, CMR technology, RAID compatibility, and Rescue Services make this drive a standout performer in its class. Highly recommended!

IronWolf drives are the best NAS drives I've used
UPDATE: This week I finally has my first IronWolf Pro drive fail. By chance it was the newest drive I put in my server. It was also my largest drive (16 tb). There were unrepairable corrupted sectors (according to seagate tools). I contacted seagate and I was walked through the process of returning the drive and having the data recovered. They were not difficult to deal with. I'm leaving my review at 5 stars. I have however ordered another 16tb drive as a quick replacement to the one that died (amazon will get that drive here at least a week before seagate would get a replacement here). If that drive dies prematurely and or the 16tb replacement seagate sends me back dies again then I will start removing stars with the caveat that, maybe the quality control or tech associated with drives larger than 14tb, arent ready for the masses. I've been running 5 other 14tb ironwolf pro drives 24/7 for many many months longer than the 16tb drive and they're all quick, silent and uncorrupted. Original: I have 3 of these 14tb IronWolf Pros. Ive bought 10 of the 8tb IronWolf (regulars). I currently only have 5 of the 8th drives installed and running. I havent had a single issue with any of the drives. Some of my drives are 4 years old. Some are 8 months. They all run 24/7 with a 60 second reboot, once or twice a week. Anyways I began buying these 14tb drives a year and a half to two years ago. They are more expensive dollar for dollar (by tb) than the 8tb drives but when you have a ton of data and your running out of sata ports on your motherboard or internal hdd slots in your tower these are the way to go. As I said before they are reliable. Not a single DOA drive and not a single breakdown. I get on average about 170 mbs drive transfer rates. Fast, quiet and reliable, cant ask for much more. Before I got iron wolfs I bought some other seagate drives (not NAS). TOTAL GARBAGE. Seagate almost lost me as a customer there, but I gave ironwolf a chance and I'm glad I did.

The heavyweight champion of data storage!
This bad boy can handle your files like a professional organizer on steroids. But be warned, it's not your average hard drive - it's like the Arnold Schwarzenegger of the storage world! When I first got my hands on this monster of a hard drive, I swear I heard a chorus of angels singing. It's like the storage gods themselves decided to bless me with the ability to hoard digital junk like there's no tomorrow. "Yes, I do need 8TB of cat memes and old vacation photos, thank you very much!" The installation process was a bit like solving a Rubik's Cube while blindfolded. I mean, who knew plugging in a hard drive could be as complex as defusing a bomb? But once you manage to fit it in, it's like that satisfying feeling of finally getting the last piece of a jigsaw puzzle in place. "Eureka! Behold, the IronWolf resides within!" And let's talk about the performance. This hard drive is so fast, it's like Usain Bolt on a caffeine high. It gobbles up your files quicker than you can say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Large video files? No problem. Gigantic photo collections? Easy peasy. It's like a bottomless pit of storage that laughs in the face of data limits. But don't let its impressive storage capacity fool you - this hard drive is also a master of secrecy. It's like a vault of secrets, keeping your embarrassing selfies and failed cooking videos safe from prying eyes. "Yes, I did attempt to make a soufflé once, and no one shall ever see the evidence!" And of course, the sound it makes when it's working hard is a symphony of whirrs and clicks. It's like a miniature rock concert inside your computer, and you can't help but tap your foot along to the rhythm. "Come on, IronWolf, show me what you've got! Rock that data storage!" In conclusion, the Seagate IronWolf Pro 8TB NAS Internal Hard Drive is not just a storage device - it's a legend in the making. It's like having a personal butler for your data, ready to serve and protect with its impressive capacity and lightning-fast performance. So go ahead, load it up with cat videos and spreadsheets galore - the IronWolf can handle it all! 🦾📁😄

Great price, warranty and usable speed.
I have placed on of these drives in a NAS as a single source for storage to run it through its paces. This is designed for NAS and while I cannot say how it performs in a RAID scenario, it was able to do as hopefully expected with reads and writes and play nice with the NAS OS. Having to compare to a 5 bay older NAS with 4 tb drives, the single drive in the NAS does appear to be a bit noisy. The three facets are - NAS case design, the drive itself and not being engage in a RAID. I know that larger drives can be a bit noisy and I'll make adjustments externally to neutralize some of the noise and more so, when populated with other same drives for RAID. I got this drive at a good price from* Amazon itself and will soon check with Seagate on their warranty. Last- yes, assuming no issues in the near future, I would buy again... 2-3 more of these.

2 out of the 4 Hard drives worked (Edited) Customer Service is Horrendous
Bought 4 Hard Drives 3 of them showed up when plugged in. Figured it was an issue with my home build server. Eventually bought a Synology NAS a couple months later. Drive still didn't show up. Bad drive. 75% satisfaction. Update. Have been running drives for about 2 hours in the Synology Nas no read/writes yet. Drive 2 has just failed. 50% Satisfaction. Update 2: If I could give this zero stars I would. One of the reasons you buy from a name brand is that they have a warranty/replacement policy for bad drives. I have attempted to return my 2 faulty drives, I have proof they were delivered, Seagate has lost them and ignored my return for a month, and are now asking for Proof of Purchase, and Delivery which I have given. I have been told to wait for the third or fourth time while someone comes to a decision over 48 hours. At this point I am realizing I am out 2 drives and the 250 I paid for them. Update 3: I have been informed that the drives received and the ones I said I would send are different. Not before asking if I took any pictures of the drives which I had not. So the warranty won't be covered because my drives WS24MPAF and WS24MPAM don't actually have that serial number they end in 881 which do not have a warranty and I am being told I am a liar and did not actually send in the 2 other drives. There is no recourse I can follow it seems so this is it. I have images of my entire conversation but no proof that I did in fact send in the 2 drives. You can find this review on Amazon which I learned I purchased from an Unauthorized dealer when I purchased from Seagate Technology. I wish the best to the next poor soul.

Solid performance, a bit noisy for todays standards of silent SSDs.
Admittedly, I've only had the HDD for a day, but my first impressions are: It's a solid product with very steady speed when compared with other HDDs. I'm using mine connected to a docking bay which is then attached to my iMac Pro via one of the USB ports. Reformatting for Mac was a breeze. I chose to also encrypt it, and I am using it to store my TimeMachine backups. I did some testing with BlackMagic Disk Speed Test and it gets about 200 MB/s write and 225 MB/s read, solidly, repeatedly. I DID make sure to buy the "Pro" version, which comes with a bit more cache memory and most importantly, 7,000 rpms. I've confirmed it IS the pro version while registering with SeaGate for warranty purposes. So, so far, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. Yes, it is a bit noisy, but only to those not used to the old days of hard drives that would tic and tac all day while you worked on a PC. It's soothing to me, actually. LOL. Lets you know it's alive and well. Thumbs up so far. I reserve the right to change/update my review if I encounter issues down the road. Be well everyone. R. UPDATE: after a few months with the unit the noise IS getting old... Especially because nothing else makes noise (my iMac Pro is completely silent). It IS a very noisy unit. Not "soothing" anymore as I had said before. One star less because of that.

Great deal, great product, perfect for my home NAS
Hi all, I bought 4 of these for my home NAS. I have used them with my own built NAS and a synology. These have worked flawlessly. I have used others and have had great results as well, but regardless, I'm very happy with these. I am not a professional user. I use them to store my content creation (I'm no influencer though and pay every penny as well). I have used them in different storage configurations and had excellent results every time. Are these right for you? If this is in your price range and has your correct specs than great! I will note, if it isn't urgent, the technology is getting better and better (have you seen some of those SSDs wowsa). So, if you just need one for now, get one, you can expand later and when you do you'll get more bang for your buck. I bought all of my storage at one time in the past and by the time I needed my second, third drive, etc, I could've gotten a much better drive for the price. More TB always sounds nice, but just make sure you really need the 4 TB. Enjoy! Hope you found this useful

So far, so good
Installed this in a new custom-built gaming rig to hold all my boring, grown-up, work-related stuff that doesn't need to be on an ultra-fast SSD. It's been less than a month, but it's already gotten a workout as I move the contents of six smaller drives from my old rig onto it and reorganize everything to make it all easier to find, and I haven't had a problem. (My 30-ish years of experience has been that if a hard drive doesn't die within the first week, it'll last a good long time; there doesn't seem to be much in-between.) It spins quietly, but the read/write/seek is a little loud, in a clicky way. It'd probably be a lot less noticeable if it were rack-mounted, but this particular rig positions HDD mountings in a way that keeps the drives cooler but doesn't muffle the sound nearly as much. Overall, I'm super happy with the cost-per-terabyte and performance. I'll update ASAP if anything goes wrong with it.
