The Social Brand is written by an experienced Marketer, not by a consultant. And it shows. It not only captures the key strategic imperatives for defining a purposeful vision in a concise way, but it also outlines HOW to bring this to life. This makes The Social Brand a must-read for marketers who want to create an impact, both on their business and on the lives of consumers they serve. It uses a simple framework "the Brand Bank account", and illustrate with many examples that Brands that not just say they are 'great', but behave accordingly, are the true Social Brands in this new era of marketing.

Inspiring, stimulating and fun read!
There are many books on social media out there, but this was the first one that really hit home with me. It doesn't tell you how to use Facebook and Twitter but argues that the only way to succeed in the 'social era' is to be social at the very core of your brand. The new framework, the Brand bank account, identifies a simple four-step plan which will enable brands to become social through giving people something really worthwhile that people want to seek out and share with others. A great and fun read for anyone who is interested in what's happening in business today.

it is not a book, it is a revolution!
The social brand clearly pinpoints the branding revolution that is taking place and explains it with real market insights and inspiring examples. As a social entrepreneur I have the honor to serve and link many corporates, NGO's and governments on their CSR strategies and to optimize their impact in their organisation, business and society. For me social branding is the new era in this field! Many thanks author I will spread your word amongst my network of leaders in society to spread the social branding revolution!

An eye opener
There are a couple of things I like about this book. First of all it's a great read, I actually read it from beginning to end. Second it feels like a very important book; really looking at the very essence of your business strategy in order to succeed in these fast-changing times. Redefines brand positioning, ditches words like consumer and 'target audience' and you could argue it redefines corporate social responsibility; no longer as token of goodwill, but as core business principle.

If only alll marketing books could be written like 'The social brand'
So many times a marketing book is just too theoretical or on the other side merely a practical handbook. This book is different. You can tell the author is in a high marketing position, since his advise is practical and actionable. But this practicality is combined with a clear and inspiring vision on how brands should behave in the modern era which makes it really the best of both worlds. I wonder who the secret author is, would love to meet him/her someday.

THE brand book of 2014This book combines all relevant brand themes of today into one. It puts the brand’s purpose central. The concept of building the brands bank account is very clever and useful!It is an easy read with lots of interesting case studies and great examples. A must read for all brand and business people that want their brands to truly contribute to people’s lives and to the community.

Enjoyable book by the founder of Tenzing Natural Energy
I had the pleasure of working at Tenzing for some time so I definitely gained some insight into how Huib is as a person outside of this book as well. This may make me a bit biased. However, the book exudes good energy and really interesting insight. Would definitely read again. Definitely a less rigid and more creative take on branding than most marketing books available.

Great book. Coming at this from a non-marketing perspective it really showed the value of genuine value add activities for your customers and wider stakeholders. It has certainly made me think differently of how I can help my business engage with and enhance the communities we serve.
