Ministat 100 Reptile Thermostat

Bought this for my corn snakes viv to replace a dodgy one from an original pair. Plugged in, tested it worked by spinning the dial, all seemed well so I set it to temp and left it, half hour later I realised it hadn’t turned on, yet my heat mat was on and my thermometer was reading 24 degrees, played around with placement of thermostat’s thermometer to see if that changed anything to no avail, swapped my thermostats over to test and walla it turned on…long story short I ended up slowly turning up the dial until I got a steady 28-29, though the dial is reading 33 degrees which is way off! Triple checked with other thermometers. I didn’t return as it does otherwise work and it was an emergency replacement.

I've had various thermostats in the passed made by another popular company.Bought this little stat to control an 80w basking bulb, beware that it is a simple ON/Off thermostat which is fine for heat mats but might not suit you if you want to use a bulb. I wanted a dimming thermostat to control the bulb but this will work for now, it's just annoying that it turns the bulb on and off. Again that's my fault for not doing more research but the seller might add that to the description.Temperature seems to be out by +1.5c so not too inaccurate. Very easy to install and works as it should (as an ON/Off) thermostat.Unfortunately like many others, the adjustment tool seems to be missing even though its mentioned on the packaging and in the instruction manual as coming with one, not a big deal. I used a small flat head screwdriver to set the temperature.

Simple to use thermostat….But you will also need to use a thermometer to measure the temperature of your setup….Then adjust the temperature settings of the thermostat using the information from your thermometer….

Got this for my snakes heat mat. It works really well and seems to be pretty accurate. I would prefer they worked in the same way as the ones for heat bulbs; reducing the wattage to reduce the heat rather than turning off. But it ensures my snake doesn’t over heat and that’s the main thing.

Delivered quick, easy setup, works great. One downside is it didn't arrive with the temperature adjustment key or the double sided adhesive tape which its support to have. Luckily I could use sticky velcro and a screwdriver instead.

I’ve used this thermostat previously. It lasted 8 years so I know it’s good value for money

All good but it's missing the little key to turn the dial. Have to use one from another one I've ordered.
