When it comes to quilting, the Accuquilt Go really "Cuts It" :-)
The Accuquilt Go has far surpassed my original expectations. Each cut is accurate and it works on all kinds of fabric including denim, wool, felt, and some battings. Although extra dies can be somewhat expensive (definately buy them at Amazon to save money), the wide assortment of dies is really great and allows your imagination to run wild. No more measuring, snipping, or cutting mistakes. No more passing up patterns because of too many little shapes to cut. There is something for almost every quilting need including a variety of fun applique shapes. The Go also has a built-in handle with a magnetic latch and is very easy to take to a quilting class (everyone there thought it was great) or over to a friend's house. I can carry many dies with me in my old briefcase. So far, only the strip cutters are too large for the briefcase. If you're torn between the Accuquilt Go and the Accuquilt Baby because of the Baby's lower price, consider this. The Go includes dies for a 4" finished square, a 2" finished square, and a 2" finished half-square triangle. The Baby comes with no dies. Not all dies that will work with the Go will work with the Baby, but all dies that work with the Baby will work with the Go. That means a wider selection for increased creativity. The Go is definately the way to "go". I suffer from painful arthritis all over and the Go has solved many problems for me. My hands no longer cramp up from using scissors or a rotary cutter (which can be dangerous). My wrists don't have the carpal tunnel ache I got using scissors. Instead of standing and suffering for hours at my cutting table, a short time with the Accuquilt and my pieces are perfectly cut and ready to to sew. Using the Accuquilt Go I can now cut pieces for an entire quilt in an hour or two, something that used to take me days. For anyone that hates the time-consuming cutting process or has limited or painful hand, wrist, or elbow movement, the Accuquilt system is for you. Just place your fabric on the die, put on the cutting mat and turn the handle. The only issue I have now is trying to decide what project to do next. Ok, I'm a guy who turned to quilting for a hobby. This is one useful tool for which I am not ashamed to say, "I love it!"

Best money I spent, I am glad I got it as a noob and not after quilting for 20 years
What can I say that has not already been said? This is a LIFESAVER for my back and has made quilting even MORE fun than it was before. Perfect cuts make quilting a breeze for beginners or experienced people. It's great to get the cutting done so fast and get right to the creating and sewing with no worrying about incorrect cuts or uneven pieces. I bought the 8.5" rag quilt die and love it- it is reviewed on that page. Suffice to say there is no way on gods green earth my back would have stood for cutting out 100 of these squares AND cutting the fringe at the end. I am attaching a photo from that die. This machine is VERY easy to use, requires hardly any effort. It is portable, yes but it is pretty heavy in my opinion- I wouldn't be toting it all over the place without a rolling bag and would have to live on the 1st floor. It folds up flat and stores away easily when it's not in use so you aren't using up a bunch of valuable table space. I see me doing many more quilts than I thought before and I plan to donate a bunch to our local hospice.

Fun, Love It!
I love this! I just wish the dies were not so expensive! I use it for cutting earrings and embellishments. Would love to have the capital letters but that die is $249.00!! I prefer the control of a manual machine.

Accuquilt GO! Met my expectations.
I purchased this product after having read other reviews and watching YouTube videos. I did not have any unpleasant surprises when I used this product. It worked exactly as promised and I found it very useful in cutting shapes quickly. First, it is a little on the expensive side but it was a gift and I I knew I could return it if it was more trouble than it was worth. The dies are a separate expense but I tend to use the same shapes over and over along with the strips so I don't think I will get into some of the applique shapes etc. The cutting mats are also an extra expense but I have found ways to make them go an extra mile or two before needing a new one. After a recent long weekend with no power in an ice storm I used the GO! to cut nearly a thousand pieces for a large 9 patch quilt I am working on. I have experimented with the number of layers cut at the same time and the position of the cutting mat. I have cut up to six layers using the 3.5 inch square die (2 squares on the die) and have had no problem whatsoever with accuracy. The few that were slightly off were entirely my fault as I had used very wrinkly fabric just to see what the result would be. Even then, they were only off by 1/16th or so after ironing. No biggie to me. Last night I sewed about 10 blocks and had no problem matching seams perfectly. Regarding the cutting mats: I have found that turning the mat angle slightly before each cut will extend the life of the mat. Also make sure you are flipping it and using both sides. As the mat wears out I find that using it with fewer layers works a little easier. Still, with the dies I am using (all geometric shapes) I have had no problem cutting 5 or 6 layers 98% of the time. Fabric waste: Yes, there is some . . . more than cutting the traditional way I think. However, I made a cardboard template just slightly larger than the area of the cutting area and used it to cut my fabric down to minimize the waste. It was an extra step but not as time consuming as cutting 1296 squares individually. In the case of my current project I plan on using the scraps for the pieced border on the finished quilt so the minimal waste is not a big deal to me. I can absolutely recommend this product to quilters who want to cut shapes or strips quickly with little strain on the back or hand. While there is a little fabric waste, I find that MY time is valuable and if the cuts are accurate then I find that a few extra scraps and well worth it.

The best purchased I've ever made!
I decided to try my hand at quilting late last year and immediately fell in love with it! I love choosing the fabrics, matching them together, trying out new designs and arrangements, and I even love working with my sewing machine. What I did not love was CUTTING the fabrics! I would spend hours leaning over the table, lining up the ruler, trying to make straight cuts with a rotary cutter, trying to fix that wonky cut I just made, replacing the rotary blade because it was skipping tiny sections of the fabric that I'd have to go back over with scissors... I would delay starting a new quilt just because the thought of all the cutting kind of bummed me out. Not to mention the hand, arm and BACK pain that went along with it. While looking on Amazon for some new quilting notions, I ran across the AccuQuilt Fabric Cutter. After reading about it, I was super excited! I won't lie, the price slowed me down a little, but after considering: The time I spent cutting fabrics for each quilt The amount of wasted fabric I had from the slip of the ruler or cutter The resulting pain from leaning over the table while cutting the fabric The increase in productivity I could have by cutting down my cutting time.. I decided, let's give it a shot! And good Lord, I am so glad I did. I have cut so much fabric with the AccuQuilt GO! I now spend a few hours on the weekend cutting fabric with this, and I have enough material to keep me quilting all week long. The wasted fabric produced by this cutter is minimal. The accuracy of the cuts has made my quilts come out looking so much better. So with this kit, I received: The AccuQuilt GO Fabric Cutter The "value die"- this cuts a 4.5" square, a 2.5" square, and a 2" half square (triangle) A 6"x12" cutting mat A die pick (used for cleaning bits of string and fabric out of the dies) A pattern book The cutter is basically ready to go right out of the box. You just place it on a table, pull both sides down to open it up and BAM, you're ready to go. So you get your cutting die, lay some fabric on it, place the cutting mat over that, and run the die through the cutter. The handle used to roll the die through the cutter is very easy to turn. Once the die comes out on the other side, lift up the cutting mat and you'll have perfectly cut pieces of fabric. As far as how many layers of fabric you can cut at once, I've cut: Up to 6 layers of flannel 8 layers of cotton fabric 2 layers of fleece These may not be the amounts recommended by the manufacturer, but I've had no problems with it so far. I will say this though, the more layers you try to cut at once, the harder it is to turn the handle on the fabric cutter. If you get overly ambitious and try to cut too many layers, you can cause the bar on the cutter to bend, then your cutter is pretty much kaput. Be nice to your machine! There are also tons of different dies you can buy to use with this machine as well. I've purchased the 6" square, the 2.5" strip cutter (perfect for binding strips!), a 8" rag square (love love love this one!), and a few others. I intend to collect them all, hehe. Also worth mentioning, the cutting mats do tend to wear out fairly quickly. To get the most mileage out of them, make sure you rotate the mat a different way each time you make a cut. I just turn mine clockwise each time. After a few cuts, I turn the mat over, and use the opposite side for a while. I use my 8" rag square die a lot. That die wears out only the outer edges of the 10"x10" cutting mat. Once it's too worn to be used with the rag square, I use the center of it for cutting smaller squares, like the 6" squares. A quick tip for cleaning the dies: The die pick included with the cutter does a decent job, but man, it's slow. I found a video on YouTube with a lady that recommends using a pair of needlenose pliers to clean the dies. It's works fantastically! Here is a link if you'd like to see how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN1gBtea_Dc As a matter of fact, there are tons of videos on YouTube showing how this cutter works along with some great project ideas. In regards to SAFETY... the dies are made up of a piece of wood with blades that form the shape you want to cut out attached to it, and foam covering the blades. The blades are very, very sharp! The newer dies have a two tone color system on the foam that shows the outline of the blades. The older dies do not. It's highly recommended that you get a sharpie and outline the ones that don't have it outlined already. Always be super careful when using and cleaning the dies. Overall, I absolutely love the AccuQuilt GO Fabric Cutter. It has made quilting so much more enjoyable for me.

Love this time saving gadget!
I hate cutting fabric. That is the main reason I don't get as many quilts done as I would like, because I hate to 'waste' my time cutting and measuring. I'd rather be sitting at the machine zipping those pieces through. I received the AccuQuilt along with the Double Wedding Ring die, and some squares and triangles. It is fairly simple to run the dies through the cutter with the fabric and mat. I did learn that the more layers of fabric you have, the more difficult it will be to run it through, and the accuracy of the cuts decreases. This was especially true with the Double Wedding Ring die. There is some fabric waste when cutting this way, but depending on which die you are using, there are plenty of usable scraps for other projects. I love the Accuquilt--but be aware that when you buy a die, you have to buy the appropriate sized mat...separately. That irks me a bit--I wish each die came with a mat. And I can see that a mat does have a life to it--my 10x10 mat will probably be ready for the trash by the time I am done cutting all the zillion pieces of my Double Wedding Ring quilt.

So Easy to Use
AccuQuilt Go Fabric Cutter / B0021F62D6 I love quilting, but I'm having a harder and harder time making quilts due to some persistent back pain from my scoliosis. The fabric cutting portion of any quilt project is where I really struggle - all that bending over, measuring, and pressing and moving the rotary cutter just causes me all kinds of problems. The light came on when I noticed my friend (who works with paper crafts) using a die cutter to create paper shapes and I had to wonder if something like that existed to cut shapes for quilts. A lot of research later, I decided on an AccuQuilt Go! fabric cutter. The pros of the AccuQuilt is that it seems to be the most affordable fabric cutter out there, and the machine is small and portable for home hobbyists. The cons are that a new die has to be bought for each shape and dimension that you might want to use - it's not like a paper cutter where you can adjust down from 3.5" to 2.5" on a whim. However, since I almost exclusively use 3.5" squares in my quilting, this wasn't a drawback for me - I bought the 3.5" die to go along with the fabric cutter and anything else I need I will continue to hand-cut for as long as I can. This machine is so easy to use. The quilt I'm working right now needs 60 squares of pink. The die I bought cuts two 3.5" squares per layer of fabric, and I can fit 8 layers of fabric in a single run through the machine. That's four runs through the machine for 64 squares - and I accomplished all that, straight out of the box, without reading the user manual, in less than 30 minutes. That level of work would have taken me at least 3-4 hours by rotary cutter, and my back would be aching afterwards. The two biggest complaints that I've seen for the AccuQuilt is that (a) the rotary mats have to be replaced periodically, and (b) there's some serious fabric waste to consider. For the first issue, the mats, I don't foresee a problem. The mats are much thicker than the rotary mats I've bought in the past, so they should last comparably long, and the mats are pretty cheap on the AccuQuilt site, especially compared to mat prices at my local fabric store. I have to cop to the second point, though - the die could be laid out a lot more efficiently to prevent wastage and I'm surprised it's not. AccuQuilt does make and sell strip cut die, which will cut two clean 3.5" strips side-by-side (as opposed to two squares) and that looks a lot more efficient in terms of fabric use, but then of course you still have to whip out the rotary blade to cut the squares out of the strips. I'm going to try it and see how it goes, anyway. I recommend the AccuQuilt fabric cutter system if (a) you use the same basic shapes frequently, and (b) you like to collect fabric scraps for scrap quilts. I'm so glad I bought one and only wish I'd found it years ago. ~ Ana Mardoll

I love my Go! Fabric Cutter!
I use it to cut up all of my quilts and it's made that part of making quilts much more enjoyable and it saves me so much time. I remember dreading the process of cutting all the pieces for my quilts and my eye sight isn't very good so I'd be hunched over my mat making sure I was making the right cut. I'm not very confident with my cutting skills anyways what with the ruler sliding on some cuts and ruining a part of my fabric for that particular pattern. With the Go! Fabric Cutter I am much more confident in cutting up my beautiful fabrics to make my quilts. The best part is that I can now make quilts I only dreamed of making since I couldn't imagine cutting out difficult shapes with rulers that at least for me are always slipping. I can't wait to make tumblers, grandmothers flower gardens, diamonds, penny patches, friendship stars, triangles and double wedding ring quilts. Those are the dies I have so far. The only downside is how addicting buying new dies is. Some of them are very expensive and I would suggest only paying for dies that you know you are going to use a lot. The strip cutters really aren't worth it unless you are going to use them like crazy and they don't make the best cuts either. I really think that the best buys are difficult to cut shapes and ones you use the most. I would recommend this product to quilters of all skill ranges. It is very fun to work with and worth the money if you are passionate for quilting and plan to use it as much as possible.

gutes Gerรคt

Very well made and simple to use
I returned my absolute dire Gemini die cutter and purchased this instead. Yes, it is more expensive, but is seriously simple to use, good quality and really does the job. Should have bought this in the first place not given myself aggro!
