TP-LINK TL-WN727N 150 Mbps Wireless USB Adapter

This is alot better than my belkin USB G which previously works at a 3 bars connection but I get frequent disconnects. However with this product, I've been on for 6+ hours and its not disconnected once and it runs at steady speeds unlike my Belkin USB G which ran at random speeds between 50-600kbps and now I get a steady 600kbps. I am really impressed with the packaging, however the driver CD is a small type CD so it wouldn't work on slot in DVD's drives. I just downloaded the latest drivers from the TP link site and it worked, but I had to restart to get it fully working. My router is only 54mbps but I got the full 54mbps on a 3 bar connection as my room is on the 2nd story. Overall this is a 4.5/5 stars as the dongle itself felt abit cheap and the driver CD was a mini-type CD. But the hardware was amazing.

Seems fine. Excellent value. Has a green LED behind the white plastic that flashes inside. Neither the box nor the adapter have the MAC address on them so when you install it if you have MAC address filtering on your router you'll need to install the adapter drivers from the CD, start->run->cmd->ipconfig/all and make a note of the adapters MAC address, rattle that into your router MAC address filtering table, and then connect OK. Bit daft TP-Link don't publish this on the box or the device but there you go.

This wireless "dongle" connects to internet without the hassle of installation cd. Driver software is "hard-coded" internally. Therefore this Works perfectly on:- Desktop, Laptop, Notebook. Running OS:- Linux; (tested on 8 distros), Windows; (tested 4 versions) With wireless adaptors you get what you pay for.. Cheaper models that come with mini-cd Driver installation.. Are to be avoided (at all cost!) Because the cost saving is not worth the hastle of installation.. After all, how do you download drivers when you cannot get online? This device also has extention base which enables directional position. Plus it looks the part and has internal green activity led. I own 3 of these fitted to (networked computers). Fully Recomended!

The first time I plugged this adapter in it worked like a charm, got me connected in a matter of seconds. However over time I have come to notice a flaw in product. Once plugged in the product does give a connection yet the signal strength seems to fluctuate quite noticeably. I could be getting a great signal but then a few seconds later I would be getting a signal not strong enough even to launch Google.

This is plug and play but the wifi is slow slow it takes 2+ minutes for YouTube to load. I have fast wifi and this has never been a problem for me so it must be the device. All in all I wouldn’t recommend it

- Small in size - Good pick-up range - Sturdy - Green flashing light (nice to see its working) - looks sleek and professional - blends in to the enviroment around it - nice colour, material has a nice smooth finish - Stays pretty cool even after beign used for a really long time - usb extension cable included - cd with the driver and a tp-link utility software (software for tp-link products) included - cheaper and better quality than what the other companies offer cant go wrong :)

I purchased this adapter for my mum's new computer as her existing hardware wouldnt work with Windows 7 but DESPITE the website saying that this device is Windows 7 compatible, it simply doesnt work AT ALL with our machinery - but what's worse is that EVERYTHING in and on the box is in GERMAN (which we dont read) including the booklets, the installation DVD and the online pdf instruction booklet (no option to change it to English). I did my best to install the adapter with the help of the odd word from an old German phrase book dad had around, tried it THREE times but to no avail, it simply WONT connect or even present any software at all onto our machine, not even anything we can change or modify! STAY WELL CLEAR - it's not worth wasting the money on (allbeit a smallish amount) - mum's gone to spend £20 at PC World to get another proper one so we can actually get ON the internet at some point!!! I just hope that the mis-description qualifies me for my money back - it's the principle of the matter not the amount!!

It has got a very good range. Even if the modem is in the adjoining room, it gets around 90% signal. Other good features : 1) Connects automatically 2) Hotspot feature 3) Password protection I haven't used WPS connect feature, so can't say anything about it.

No estaba seguro si funcionaría en Linux, pero fue plug & play, resultó perfecto. Quizá no es muy discreta, pero es funcional y el cable que incluyen ayuda a posicionar la tarjeta donde mejor señal reciba.

Tried this out with Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit and aircrack-ng. The one I received is version 4.1 and has the Atheros AR9485 chipset according to airmon-ng. Tried out monitor mode. Works great. Tried out airodump-ng. Works great. Tried out packet injection with aireplay-ng --test. Works great. Haven't tried any real penetration testing but, at first glance, it seems to work for what I need and I'm able to do packet captures on 2.4GHz traffic on linksys wifi routers.

Premetto che non sono un esperto di queste cose, comunque ho installato il prodotto da solo sul mio computer fisso e non ho avuto problemi nela procedura. Adesso il computer può collegarsi al segnale Wi-fi. La connessione funziona bene, senza dar problemi. La chiavetta TP-LINK è anche esteticamente carina. E' anche fornito in dotazione il cavo per collegarla alla presa USB del computer, oltre alle sitruzioni su CD mini. La velocità di connessione è 150Mbs, che serve per collegarsi ad i modem con un antenna come quello che uso io e che potete posizionare nel posto ottimale della casa. Se invece avete un modem a due antenne allora ci vuole una chiavetta con velocità di connessione di 300Mps. Ottimo acquisto, c'è anche un led verde sulla chiavetta che vi indica se è accesa e funzionante, oltre ad un software che si installa sul computer e che potete controllare in ogni momento.
