Made a costume for Halloween. Great pattern.

Simple pattern
It was a simple pattern to construct for a young women’s period silhouette. Simple adjustments for specific measurements were helpful to bring about a 1910 school uniform. Witches were unused, but would seemingly be good for an adult period silhouette.

Dorothy pattern used...
This was my first time trying a pattern and it was an uphill battle. From what I understand now, after the fact, patterns for costumes deliberately leave out some steps because they assume that you know the basics of what you're supposed to do. Looking back, I would have done a few things differently. But, really, it was very satisfying to finish the Dorothy costume for my 9yo daughter and she loved seeing a little bit more as she would come home from school each day. On the first day, she came home and proclaimed 'I have half a shirt'!It was a rewarding experience for us both, lol.

Sizing?
Sizes were all wrong with this pattern. Unfortunately, I am not experienced enough to fix the issue, so it was a waste of money and time. :(

Pattern not exactly for beginners
I would say I'm an advanced sewer but for any beginner the Dorothy costume would be very complicated. I wish I had known that the pinafore and blouse were sewn as the same piece. I would rather have it in two separate pieces. I am usually a size 12-14. I cut out size 14 and the finish measurements that are stated on the bodice pattern was way too big! The ease that was put into the costume is way off the actual size size stated in the pattern. I had to modify and shrink the pattern.

The dorthory dress is all in 1 piece. Which was why I bought the pattern
It would of been nice to know that the dress and skirt is all 1 piece. Thought itwas in 2 pieces.
