Here is the ingredient list: Soybean oil, brill fish, garlic, ginger, shallots, sesame, coconut powder, dried shrimp, chili powder, salt, pepper. A serving of 2 tablespoons contains 2 g of carbohydrates, probably from the coconut powder.

Q: Does this product have a long shelf life? Do you refrigerate it after opening?

The shelf life of this product is 12 months from the date manufactured. Yes, please put in refrigerate after open, always stir before use.

Q: Can I substitute a barbecue sauce with some fish sauce, till I get some how can I substitute?

In order to make good authentic Chinese BBQ ribs, this item is a must. It adds that "Umami" (base 'secret' ingredient) associated with good ribs. Regular BBQ sauce is too sweet/vinegary and fish sauce is too salty. Hard to say what it can be substituted with. I'd leave them out.. You'll 'see' when you get it.
