Armitron Sport Men's 40/8309 Digital Chronograph Watch

**** Update - After trying the watch a while... It's way too big. . .think "clown shoes." And all to no purpose.This Armitron Sport Men's 40/8309 Digital Chronograph Watch is Huge. I knew it was a large watch but not that large. Do look hard at the picture another reviewer posted of the watch on his arm. For the price I paid, I would have bought it anyway, but if I'd noticed that picture I wouldn't have been so surprised by the watch's size. The watch's size is not my cup of tea but it has some nice features if it's yours. I got the watch as a very inexpensive add-on to use vigorously so the way it looks isn't much of an issue for me. --Though it being so big seems like a waste of space and material to me. Looks aside, the watch seems well made and tough. In addition to the usual stopwatch, it has a function that many resin watches lack these days -- a countdown timer. And it has a function that's new to me -- a beat counter or pacer that beeps every certain number of seconds with a wide range of times to choose from. I can see that function being very useful, perhaps reason in itself to buy the watch.

WOW...very impressive watch !!! My 3rd Armitron. I have a white, a red, and now this one. This one is the biggest at 5.4 centimeters. But it's lightweight and extremely comfortable on the wrist. I'm 63, and my wrist is of medium size at best, yet this BIG watch fits nicely. You forget you even have it on. I want to look at my watches and see, in easy to read numbers & letters, the day of week, month/date, and the time. This watch is perfect for that. I do like color (hence the white & red Armitrons), so I really enjoy the little splash of red coloring. This watch is elegant, yet sporty, and fun to wear (like all my Armitrons). I guarantee you that people will think you spent WAY more money than 20 bucks for this watch. But know your metric system...5.4 centimeters is NOT a dainty little watch...LOL !!! I LOVE IT !!!!On a side note....I read in a review of another Armitron watch, that someone couldn't change the battery due to the itsy bitsy screws. NOT A PROBLEM !!!! My first Armitron needed a new battery after about 2.5 years. I went to a store and purchased a repair kit for eyeglasses. Cost under 2 bucks. The screwdriver you get with it works perfectly on these watches. Piece of cake to replace a battery.

Note to Armitron Engineering Staff: Re-engineer this watch with the light face and black numbers. I returned this watch because I can not see the time during the day or night, and the LED light is very poor. I love Armitron watches and have all the colors for this same style, AND I would buy this again if it had the same specs as the other watch's in the series. I like the black style but I have to be able to tell the time. You can see the comparison in my picture of the different colors for this style.

If you like a very large watch, you can't beat this watch for the price. It works exactly like it's supposed to and does the basic features the average person wants. 12 or 24 hour clock, stopwatch, backlight, alarm etc. It looks good and the buttons are easy to push but so much that it will happen by accident. Its way too big for my wrist, but to be fair I have to wear long sleeve shirts a lot. I tried wearing it for a day without sleeves, and it still pressed into the back of my hand too much to be comfortable for me. But that is personal preference depending on the person. I'm going to have to send it back for a smaller watch, but only for size reasons, I still think its a great watch value.I'm not a fan of resin bands because they always tear eventually. But the thing I like about this design is the band attaches by screws from the outside rather than spring loaded pins that go inside. Those always dig out the holes when changing them and eventually stop working. This will be able to change out the bands securely and easily.I really like the backlight. Rather than illuminating the whole face, it only lights up the numbers on the screen. Its easy to read without broadcasting a bunch of light out and turns off after three seconds by itself.In the end, for the price how can you go wrong? (unless you have medium to small wrists)

I had a fitbit blaze that, after 5 years, was no longer holding a charge. Before that, I had a decent collection of Armitron and Timex watches and I realized how much I missed having a simpler watch. Tells me the time, has all the chronograph functions I need, and is more rugged than the Blaze could ever be. The black on black gives it a professional look that's perfect for engineers like myself, but also has the versatility to be worn as I run my 5k, or on a casual night out with friends.

First off, let me note that I am very slender and this watch doesn't quite fit my wrist. It is loose and can slide a few inches. There is enough room to punch another hole in the band so hopefully I can fix it, but since I am the first reviewer I'd rather wait and make sure it has no problems before voiding the warranty.The watch looks and feels nice; it is perhaps slightly big looking, you might like or dislike that about it. The display is crisp and easy to read, and unlike some of the other Armitron watches it shows the month as well as the day and day of the week. The day of the week is presented in a letter code rather than an odd graph like most Armitrons. When you activate the light, the letters grow bright teal- this is rather cool looking, and I like it better than older digital watches I've owned where the whole display glows dull green.The buttons aren't raised much and are slightly annoying to reach but you certainly won't press them on accident; they do have a nice texture and feel to them when pressed. Controls and features are typical for a sports watch, you can read them in the description.One last note; before buying the watch I was very confused as to the function of the round display just to the right of the day of the week (top-right corner); it is purely decorative, although it technically has ten patterns corresponding to the ones place in the seconds display (i.e. the same pattern is displayed at 04 seconds, 14 seconds, 24 seconds, etc).

Cumple con su función. Pero cuesta trabajo en ocasiones ver la hora a pesar de usar su iluminación. El reloj es grande.

El reloj me llego antes de lo planeado, todo en orden, es un reloj deportivo bonito, tal como se muestra en la foto tiene un diseño juvenil la caratula es grande como a mi me gustan, la calidad de los materiales es buena considerando el precio que pague, lo recomiendo

Simple, muy completo, preciso, resistente, no le pide nada a relojes de mayor valor, su luz nocturna funciona muy bien, muy recomendable

Good looking watch. Reasonable quality, especially for the price. Great shipping. Only 4 stars because it's very difficult to see the time and date during the day time, even with illumination. but still wearing it and will continue until the battery dies or I wear it out. Thanks.
