Hammond Manufacturing 1591ESBK STYRENE PLSTC CASE

Although the size of this box isn't really what I wanted for my project, it should work for me temporarily. It DOES appear very well-made. Very nice fit and finish. I should have probably done more research to find something more size-suited for my project. For someone wanting a project box of this size, it appears to be a desirable item. It's NOT cheaply made. The tolerances are spot-on. The wall thickness is very good for any applications that don't demand/necessitate a metal box. The lid "seals" very nicely to the box and comes with the correct size screws (also black, to match the box).In retrospect, and with absolutely NO reservations about this product, I MAY opt to do a little more research for a more size-appropriate box.It arrived on-time, via parcel post, in a bubble-wrap lined, manilla envelope, and undamaged.Thank you!.

I did like this box it worked well but for some reason I thought there was going to be an easy way to knock out portions of the box to easily insert cord ends or mount my InkBird that is not the case. I used a hubby knife to cut out all the slots I think a DREMEL would be the best tool for the job. I will still buy more as I plan to build more heater controllers. Just I know what I am getting into now the product was not exactly as I thought it would be. Maybe I misread the description.

I bought this to make a DIY 6V flash pack. The ExpertPower EXP645 6V 4.5 Amp Rechargeable Battery, also sold here, fit very nicely (had to pad with a little foam), and left me room to wire up a switch, put a fuse, and add power connections. Previously I had tried to use a 7amp battery and it did not fit well in the project box and I didn't have enough room to wire switches, etc. At this price I just bought another and had fun trying again with a smaller battery.

I've purchased various sizes of this product multiple times to build small electronic projects. The plastic case is sturdy, but you can cut through it with a little effort for components. Works great, would highly recommend!

I used this to do the howchoo guide on creating a mini Raspberry Pi arcade controller. It worked great! The plastic is a bit brittle (be careful if drilling with a hole saw/stepper bit).One thing to note is the supports in the four corners (where the screws attach) go all the way to bottom of the enclosure, which makes it difficult to mount square or rectangular things to the inside corners of the box. This isn't a huge issue, but you may need to cut these supports to do so.Overall, it's a solid enclosure and the quality is excellent -- especially for the price.

I've used this box to build a DIY button box for American Truck Simulator (ATS) and Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2). You will most likely not be able to find a cheaper box anywhere else.I used a piece of cardboard to make a template to drill the holes on the box with a step bit from Harbor Freight.

Great box, very sturdy. Keep track of the screws! I lost one really easily, unfortunately. The good thing is the lid is still very secure with only 5 screws.I tried cutting a hole for a volt meter, and it worked ok, but the plastic is really sturdy so I had to use a dremel, which didn't work as well as I would have liked. I am going to try snips or maybe buy a nibbler for next time.I'm glad I got the larger box. I thought it would be excessive, but it's amazing how quickly space seems to get taken up in a project.

This box was much larger than I expected. Shame on me for not paying closer attention to the dimensions. However, the quality is fantastic.Solid construction, the screws thread in smoothly. The top fits on tight and it will actually stay put without the screws. I used this to build a little switch box for my boat, and cut a couple of rectangular holes for voltage monitors. I used all six screws. Having six as opposed to four screws is a nice touch.Again, this box is amazingly well put together, especially considering the price. From what I understand, Hammond is THE brand for project boxes and small enclosures like this. I'm sure I will buy more products from them.
