DU-BRO Fishing Flag Clips for Antennas

hello, keeping birds off sailboats is an ongoing chore. nothing is worse than bird-doo on any surface, let alone a sunbrella sailcover. these flag clips have the ability to be placed on any line around the boat. antennas, mainsheets, jib/spinnaker sheets, etc. they come with a small flexible plastic cover to keep the abrasion to a minimum. the large model of the flag clips goes around any of the above lines and on wire standing rigging lines. we have used these in conjunction with the red/silver reflector tape sold at any marine supply stores. does it keep the birds away? we have the cleanest boat in the surrounding dock and the bird doo is kept at a minimum. these small birds are tricky as they hang on any horizontal lines and poop at will. if there is anything moving in the area...shiny reflector tape... etc, then the birds will not land on the lines. also, keep horizontal lines to a minimum. these clips have a smaller version for thin burgee lines, but may harm the larger 3/8 lines. yrmv great product...

The clips seem like they should work great, they just work ok. I used them to clip a 3x5 flag to my 8ft marine antenna. They connected fine at the top of my boats antenna, but was to small to clip to the bottom hole of the flag. They definitely can scratch your antenna.

In principle, they are easy to use... in practice, they don’t stay on and high chance the flag will fall-off within the first day.

I use these for all my small pirate flags I put on the rigging of my 13 foot sailboat. It would be nice if the silicone tube was pre-installed so I didn't have to kill my fingers getting them on. And without them, the clips won't spin around the wire, tangling the flag.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. I installed this item on my VHF antenna on my boat and at only 15 knots with a mild breeze, I lost a small flag that I have had for about 6 years and due to the weight of this product, the flag sunk. I should have stuck with the plastic tie straps that I had been using. So now I am out the money for this product and a flag.

I have a CB antenna on my jeep and attach a small (6x10 I think) American flag to it with this.

Wish I had bought these years ago, They work great.

This seems like it would work but the clips are too small for my fiberglass antenna. Nowhere does the manufacturer state what size antennas these clips will fit so buyer beware.
