Tea With Lady Sapphire: Sharing the Love of Birds

This book lives up to to all of the rest of the Sams books. The photography is lovely, simple story and very informatiive. A lovely picture book of winter birds of the Northeastern United States. I bought it for my Mother who misses Cardinals and other colorful birds. Those we have in Southern California are so drab, except for our hummingbirds. However I can't give her this book because the dust jacket was ruined with stickers that were difficult to remove and leave a residue. Such a shame a lovely book was ruined.

Excellent story line & the actual pictures add so much to the story. My grandkids love me reading to them & the pictures help “seeing” the story come to life ❤️

This is a beautiful book and a sweet, sweet story about Grandma, little brother and big sister, and the birds of winter. It's a great companion to nature study, breakfast, and bedtime. Our 3-year old grandson chose it as a favorite book at his school library. We borrowed it, and I was so taken with the way it reminded me of "us," (and many other families, I'm sure) I rushed right to Amazon to buy it. I was delighted to find it on sale. Lady Sapphire is a bird. While waiting for her to make an appearance, Gram and the grandkids view a series of other winter birds ... birds common to geographical areas that have snowfalls and snowmen and suet in cages. I highly recommend the book. It's a charmer. By the way, our little 3-year old doesn't sit still through the whole story. About half is enough for him. His five-year-old sister loves the story, but likes to draw while she's listening. Both children are very active.

Love, love, LOVE this book! The pictures are fantastic and the book is a perfect gift for bird lovers at any age! Bonus: the snickerdoodle recipe included at the end of the book is the BEST I've ever had and is my go-to for snickerdoodles! This book is beloved by my daughter, who is 9, and by a good friend, who is 90!
