We Were Not Alone: How an LDS Family Survived World War II Berlin

The horror and reality of WWII and it's effect on real life, written in visceral, but non-abrasive language. You could hand this book to your teens without concern. I was sad it was over when I reached the end.

This book really is inspirational. It is about a mother and her daughters who lived through all the horrors of war without their husband/ father or brothers who were fighting the war. They kept their faith, relied on God and even though they suffered, miracles occurred in their lives. It is written by one of the daughters who lived through this so it is a first hand account. She is not a professional writer but the message and story are so compelling that the writing is secondary to the story. I would definitely recommend this book. Keep a Kleenex handy.

I have heard Kay Reese speak and her story is spell-binding. A month ago, I saw her in the ER right before she passed away. I put my arms around her and thanked her for sharing her story and asked her if she had written it down. She informed me that Deseret Book had published it, so I immediately got online and ordered my own copy. My intention was to have her sign it, but she passed away before I could see her again. I am so glad I had the opportunity to tell her how much I loved her at least.I'm glad to have my own copy.~a

Very personable, believable and inspiring story of determination, courage, kindness, thoughtfulness and miracles from a loving Father in Heaven.

This was an excellent book written about the memories of a young girl living in Berlin during WWII. I liked the personal style and the innocence that was expressed in some not so innocent situations. This family had powerful expressions of faith and and the story details how their faith sustained them. This is a very inspiring story, especially for mothers who want to teach their daughters/children to have faith in God.

This is a beautiful, faith promoting story of a young child caught in the drama of World War II. Well written and gripping tales of escape and survival help us appreciate the hardships these people went through. It gives the reader a personal lesson of courage. faith, and hope.

This book was in excellent shape and a very reasonable price. It arrived promptly. I was very satisfied.

I knew the author and heard her tell some of these stories first-hand. Riveting.
