No, the full game is not on the disc, but purchase of the disc does entitle the purchaser to the full game. The disc contains only the first of five "episodes", with the rights to download the additional four episodes as they become available...so an internet connection will be required in order to download the entire game. Also, please note, Minecraft Story Mode is an interactive story--not to be confused with the game play mechanics of Minecraft, which is a building, exploring and survival style game. Is this a stand alone game or do I need the regular ps4 Minecraft game as well to be able to play this?

Yes it is a stand alone game. You don't need the Minecraft game. My son who's 9yrs old is so obsessed with Minecraft so I bought him both of them. I hope that helps :-)
