These are great. They seem well made enough that they will last. They have a 10 year warranty, but beside that, if one breaks from getting hit, etc., it's only 7 bucks, two screws and 2 minutes to change them. The design is really very good... there are two holes on flanges that allow you fasten the base to the top of your post. You could just nail them in, but I used two short screws which I think hold better and will make it easier if I ever need to change one. The base fits nice and snug over the 3.5"x3.5" post but is designed so there is a 1/16" wide gap all around between the post and the base piece. Another reviewer said he thought spiders might live there, but the real reason its this way is so air can circulate under the cap and keep the top of your posts dry and rot free. Then the top cap snaps firmly over the base and you're done. I just replaced 9 rotted wood caps with these and was done in about a half-hour including getting the ladder out of the garage and removing the old caps. These are on top of 7 foot high posts, so they are above eye level and look indistinguishable from the rotted wood caps I replaced. I was lucky in that the brown color matches the stain of my fence almost exactly. All in all, a really good product. Well designed, easy to install, looks really good and looks like it will last.

These posts caps are great. I had 3 of 5.75" and one 3.75" wooden posts that were beveled on the top. (pic #1) Looked for a post cap that would not require sawing off the top. I ordered the nominal 6" and 4" caps. These worked great and were so easy to install. (pics #2 and #3). Another great feature is that the screws do not show. My neighbor liked them so much he ordered some.

I purchased atlanta post caps before and have liked the durability. this model is also a very good choice and they have a nice look to them. They fit over the standard 4 inch squared posts which are really about 3/12 squared. If your post is closer to 4 inch these caps have tabs insided that can be easily broken off with a small side cutter. I am very happy of the purchase and of course Amazon shipping arrived faster than the purchase delivery date. 5 stars

At roughly $10 each, these are not cheap for a plastic cap. However, they are exactly as billed- nice looking for plastic, a good mounting system and super easy to install. All in all, worth it.

I bought 8 of these post covers to fit actual 8”x8” cedar posts on the deck of a cabin that were beginning to wear on top due to weather. They are very easy to install. However if your post is beveled at the top on each side like mine you may have difficulty installing 2 of the screws because the tabs the screws go in on the attachment plate are shorter on 2 sides. Because of the angle, I could use only 2 screws in the longer tabs. This makes the tops not as stable as they could be. The option was to cut the posts flat with a chainsaw or install some firring strips to the top of the post if you require all 4 screws. They are a thick plastic and don’t flop around but if you put pressure on them ( lean on them, etc) they will flex and make some noise on the installation plate. However, they look great installed and will protect the tops of the post from rain and snow and prolong their life. Overall a quick solution to protect and enhance post tops but could be better with some design changes. I also had some missing screw packages (each topper comes with a pack of 4 wood screws) but since I could only use 2 screws each had plenty. Overall a good product that fits actual 8”x8” posts (not 7-1/2” x 7-1/2”) which aren’t easy to find.

These post caps install in 2 minutes on bare post tops. The top cover snaps on with a positive click and feel. It's pretty apparent if they aren't all the way engaged. The mounting base has plenty of room to slip over the post top. I would advise checking for squareness on post. That's easy to do by looking at the spacing all the way around. Four screws attach the base to the post and the top snaps down. These a made from molded plastic (ABS I think) and are sturdy. They came well packed and include the screws. The only down side of this product is limited color. The maker suggests spray painting. I don't know how they would look if you brush painted them. I used an electric paint gun and used exterior latex. They look great. Good product, priced right, easy to install. Limited color. I would recommend them highly.

This is my third order of this product. The first order was for caps for all the posts on my deck and that was 3 years ago. We have had record breaking heat in summers since then and these caps have held up beautifully, and there appears to be minimal to no color fading. If I could give a ten for ease of installation I would. Have no fear, even with wind they will remain in place. This last order was for lantern posts and they gave a nice finish to them. Previously I had wood cap posts. Even stained and sealed, they did not last more than a few years. In comparison they looked nice for a while then not so nice as they fell apart. For the price you cannot get a better cap. Make sure when you order that you know whether your posts are a full 6x6 or 51/2 by 51/2. They have them both, as well as caps for 4x4's and lots of styles.

The post tops arrived promptly. My son has not yet installed them, but the instructions are very clear and the process seems relatively simple. Good product, good price.
