## Overview

The Kempf 1" Thick Natural Woven Coco Coir Doormat is a premium, hand-woven entry mat made from 100% natural coconut husk fibers. Measuring 18" x 30", its dense, aggressive weave scrapes dirt, mud, and grit off shoes effectively while allowing air circulation for quick drying. Designed for high-traffic areas, it resists flattening and matting over years of use. Eco-friendly and biodegradable, this durable mat fits standard doorways perfectly and requires minimal maintenance—just shake clean. Ideal for professionals who value sustainability and lasting quality at their doorstep.

## Description

A 100% natural coconut fiber doormat, that is great to use year round. Trap dirt outside your entrance, while increasing its appeal. The fibers are weaved on the bottom of the mat, so there is no synthetic rubber backing. This allows water to easily drain through the mat. Size: 18" (L) X 30" (W) X 1" (T).

## Features

- AGGRESSIVE 1-INCH THICK SCRAPER - A full inch of dense, tightly woven coco coir fiber bites into shoe soles with every step. Mud, grass, sand, and grit get scraped and trapped before they track inside - the open woven backing lets air circulate so fibers dry faster than rubber-backed mats.
- HAND-WOVEN NATURAL CONSTRUCTION - Each mat is woven from natural coconut husk fiber into a dense, rigid surface that scrapes more aggressively than thin machine-made coir. The tightly interlocked weave holds its shape through years of heavy daily use without flattening or matting down.
- BUILT FOR HIGH-TRAFFIC ENTRYWAYS - The tight woven construction maintains its scraping density and fiber integrity through years of daily use without flattening, compressing, or matting down. Best placed in covered front porches, mudrooms, and garage entries. Shake or tap clean after use - no washing required.
- ECO-FRIENDLY NATURAL FIBER - Made entirely from coconut husks, a renewable byproduct of the coconut industry. No PVC, no rubber, no synthetics - pure biodegradable coir that is safe for kids, pets, and the environment, and will compost at end of life.
- STANDARD SINGLE-DOOR FIT - 18" x 30" is the most common doormat size. Fits neatly in front of any standard single door - front entry, back door, garage side entry, or apartment door. Compact half-footprint catches every incoming shoe without crowding small porches.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it rough on bare foot ? I want to use it as Shower rug to soak up all the water.**
A: I tried stepping on the doormat bare-footed, in order to answer your question. The answer is that the doormat is rough, of course, but not painful. I have noticed, however, that the doormat can be slow to dry (due to its thickness and density), and therefore might harbor some mold or odor if used in a damp shower room environment. I love this doormat otherwise, but probably wouldn't use it as a shower rug.

**Q: Does this have a rubber back? I'd like to use it for my rabbit cage. It's a solid, plastic bottom and he needs traction.**
A: No it does not have a rubber back. I got 2. One is for our front door and the other one the cats use. They love it. It has the same facing on both sides. Having said that I think your rabbit will find that it will give him all the traction he needs. It is not smooth and there is a lot of texture to the finish....

**Q: Where is this made?**
A: Natural coconut fiber. Beautiful. Great work.

**Q: Does water pass through the doormat? I need it to hide, but not obstruct a very ugly water drain in front of the door.**
A: I'm really sorry but I do not know the answer to that question because it has never been wet and I would not think of intentionally getting it wet. The mat is very dense, made from coconuts. My suggestion is to check with the manufacturer, Kempf and sons. If you google Coir Doormats you should be able to access their website and phone #. I love this mat, the color is a soft tan and it is very sturdy. Hope it works out for you.
