Planning a trip to the mountains with the children, I thought this was a genius idea. I'd taken them up north before and they tried some snowballs (children of the desert find this foreign) but hands started freezing, shape was lacking, and overall it was a "done it, now let's go" ordeal. Cue the snowball maker... This time when we were around a few patches of snow I tossed this to the kids, told them to prep battlestations, and I don't think I've ever seen them have more fun. This snowball maker can create mountains of snowballs in minutes. It's a sturdy and simple design, the price is perfect for what you get, and it's durable above that. I keep it in the trunk just in case we happen upon snow and the kids have begged me to buy a second so they don't have to waste time swapping it back and forth. If you have younger kids or do not live in the snow but want to experience the same thrills, buy one or two of these today. You may get picked on for doing it the "wussy" way but it's hard to tease a person with 30 well-packed snowballs sitting in front of them. Unless you absolutely have to do it the way your grandfather did it back in his day (when he had to hike uphill both ways to get to the snow), this should be an item you always have around the car for when a trip opens the opportunity for some snowy fun. Perfect snowballs

Works really well my son and I had lots of snowball competitions last winter and we will be using again. This winter kept him entertained for hours. He would make forts and make snowballs for us to have snowball fights. They make perfectly round snowballs, super fast and easy.

This is a pretty good snowball maker. It's quick and does a great job making perfectly round snowballs and all, but unless you're scooping day old snow (more snow cone ice than shave ice/fresh powder snow), the snowballs fall apart pretty easily. The remedy to that is to keep packing in snow and manually press the cups together (not with the hand clamp) and make a tighter snowball. Then you can throw them without them breaking apart before leaving your hand. After that, the snowball fight is fair! I bought this snowball maker for the kids to even out the battlefield when they decide to have a snowball fight with me or my husband. With this contraption, they've had a few lengthy and successful battles. The neighbor kids have even borrowed to make a snowball wall/supply. It still works despite the beating its taken. I think I'll buy more in the future just so everyone will have one (neighbor kids and parents, visiting relatives, etc.) when we're having a mass snowball war during another snow day.

I bought this to mold bath bomb fizzies. Although the bigger size is good to have, I was hoping for something a bit smaller. I was impressed with the quality of it, I've been using mine for quite awhile now and it has not broken...and I use a lot of pressure when making the fizzies.

This is a super fun product. I bought this on a whim with some other items as we got ready for the 30" snowfall excpected in the Mid-Atlantic so my son could have some fun while the adults shoveled away. Not only does it make great snowballs, it saves your hands from getting sopping wet while trying to create your "ammunition". Are you going to an organized snowball fight? Don't show up empty handed. You will be the screamin' envy of the pack if you come with this doodad! Only drawback, the "legs" on the device can shift, so your snowballs may not be perfectly symmetrical. But who cares? You'll be lobbing it at someone and hopefully splattering it on their shoulders within seconds :)

I live in an area where the snow is extremely dry, almost like corn starch or powdered sugar. This product makes snowballs that instantly fall apart if the snow is dry. Kind of a bummer. I understand it's not a defect of the snowball maker, but I'm just warning those of you who have starchy, dry snow. In other words, if you live in a frozen tundra of below zero temperatures like I do, this might not work for you! But go for it- it's just five bucks! I'm sure I can find wetter snow somewhere... :)

Santa put these in all of our stockings this Christmas...My husband's,mine and our two boys. Let me tell you these make the PERFECT snowballs. My husband typically packs his to hard...and they hurt when they hit you...my youngest his typically falls apart in the air during flight...and I hate getting my gloves all wet from packing snowballs. This is ideal! The perfect snowball that is easy to make. We love these and I'm so glad that Santa brought one to each of us... ;) If one is hesitating to purchase this item...don't...just make sure you have one for every person in the family...so one doesn't have to share...for they are amazing!
