Danish Orchards Preserves, Raspberry, 4-Pound (Pack of 3)

My wife and I have been buying Danish Orchards raspberry jam for twenty-five (yes) years. Actually, it's more like twenty-six or twenty-seven, but who's counting? Anyway: On the whole, this is the best-tasting, best-textured, least-sugary, most-reasonably priced raspberry jam we've been able to find on a consistent basis. The fact that it does not need refrigeration either before or after opening makes it an easy call. Consistency is "jam-like", not jelly - it's thick but not lumpy, with seeds. The consistency and seed count can vary slightly, I'm guessing because it's made of (surprise) real fruit which can naturally vary from season to season. Of course, it'll be thicker if you keep it in the fridge, thinner if it's left out. We ordered the 4 lb tubs recently on Amazon and, like others, found one tub cracked open upon arrival. Fortunately, very little spilled, but some better packing is clearly in order.

The preserves taste fine....a bit thin as another reviewer mentioned. I already dinged Amazon on very poor packaging. Now I realize I should have dinged Acme as well. Of the three tubs, one arrived broken (Amazon's fault). Having just cleaned up 2 lbs of jam from my kitchen floor, I find the material used in these tubs is inherently poor. The tub slipped out of my hand and hit the counter (about a 1 foot drop). When I picked up the tub, the crack in the bottom gave way and the contents hit the floor in a huge splat. I now suspect that the poor container quality contributes to the many reviews that complained the tubs arrived broken.While I like to contents, I will not order this item again since the container quality is so poor. If you decide to purchase, plan on repackaging the contents into Tupperware or some other durable container.

The preserves themselves are great. They are excellent quality and taste. I usually have one open in my fridge and the other two kept in my freezer. My only problem is more then once the packaging that they have arrived in is inadequate, and has resulted in the preserves to break open. Amazon is always good to refund the money, but I would hope they would fix the problem sit here was not a wasting of material.

This is a wonderful product, very delicious.However, this shipment, and many others have been delivered very damaged. All 3 tubs have been cracked open, and product is oozing out. This item is considered contaminated now, as we are a commercial facility. Amazon, please reconsider how you are shipping this, it is not working!

The product is delicious & is very reasonable in price but the packaging is not great. The lids on 2 were slightly open and product was oozing out. Needs better packaging and to be handled more carefully.

First found Danish Orchards Raspberry preserves at Costco. My immediate impression was that these are the best raspberry preserves I have ever tasted; partly because of less sugar. All other preserves are made with way too much sugar; sickeningly sweet. Danish Orchards tastes much better because they use less sugar (I think 30 - 35% less). It's just the right amount and the taste is far superior to any other preserves. Costco decided not to re-order, so I've been buying them in 3 container lots on Amazon for several years now. Highly recommend!

Danish Orchards preserves are delicious. I purchased these because they are large! I send items to my friend who is feeding a family of 5 in the active military. Danish Orchards. (I have to keep putting the brand name in for the Amazon editors). I try to help my friend by sending shelf stable items like this. one of the buckets leaked preservers all over the others and all was a mess - thank goodness was in a separate box inside another so all contents shipped with it didn't get icky as well.....
