Q: Could I use this to essentially add bluetooth functionality to a product which has a 3.5m output, and pair it with my Bluetooth headphones?

No, this is a Bluetooth RECEIVER so, unless your intended source (device) already is Bluetooth equipped, as you already have Bluetooth headphones you will need to purchase the LAYEN Bluetooth Transceiver to transmit the data to your headphones. IF your device is, already Bluetooth equipped, your headphones ought to be able to receive from your output device.

Q: Does the device need charging if I plug it into the 3.5mm port on my car?

Yes it needs to be charged whether you use it in the car or home. Charge point is at the bottom end and full charge lasts 2 days use for me.

Q: Does this work with stereo sound? Will it work in xbox controller?

It will receive stereo sound but, as I am not familiar with the X box controller, I cannot comment on the compatibility of this receiver.

Q: Does it work with Nintendo Switch?

I’m not sure? Currently mine is for connecting via a jack plug and power from my vehicles 12v cig lighter. Then connecting to my car radio via Bluetooth and my phone.
