Loving it!
The media could not be loaded. Haven’t used it really yet but just spent my evening installing, so this is a review for installation!Came with all parts. I live in an apartment so I wasn’t sure about being able to drill into my door frame but I took a chance. Was actually able to put it in my wife closet door which will be easier to hide and fill in holes when I move out. I used my drill with the 5/32 drill bit and it was not going in but a tiny bit so I was nervous I had metal framing below the trimming. I started using a hand held screw driver with the screws provided and was getting those in deeper than my drill bits. After doing 3/4 screws on the right manually I wasn’t able to get them completely in. I took breaks often because my hands were getting tired and you’re standing on something. Went to the other side and decided to give my drill a second change, I had to push and use my whole body weight against the drill and was able to break through and get it into the door frame all the way!!!! Took the screws out from the other side that I couldn’t hand screw all the way and used the drill again to help. Long story...I almost gave up very early in the process thinking my door frame wasn’t going to work but kept trying and got it all installed! The very top two screws, I still need to screw in a little more but it’s hard because it’s so close to the top of the door frame to rotate your hands around. Anyways...keep at it! It’s tough but those screws felt so tight which I hope is a sign of it’s strength! I got a grip workout in during this process for sure. One girl in 2017 made a negative review on the bottom slots not fitting...you have to turn it in just the right angle to get that, or unattach the pull up bar from the sides and install after getting them on since you can work outside the door way. (She just gave up too soon and wasn’t using more logic) so that’s not an issue.I’m a girl who struggles in Spartan races with upper body grip obstacles, so I’m hoping this helps! Will update with regular use and completed screwing in of the screws! Haha***Added to reviewLOVE IT! It’s very sturdy, once I got everything screwed it (don’t judge, my things are not 100% straight) but it doesn’t make a difference. I’ve found myself doing at least 1-2 pulls ups a day just because and soon to add more daily and plan workouts around it when I workout at home or go running! Worth $20 100%Ladies: also serves as a great place to hang clothes to dry on their hangers!

Locking! Very sturdy, great price - UPDATE!!
————- 04.10.2022 updatestill going strong. I have given this as a gift to friends who still use it.for $20 (what I spent), this is the cheapest workout tool I use daily.I moved and it was also nice to only have some small holes in the door frame instead of the whole frame being broken apart like the pressure based pullup bars.I haven't seen any other company create a competing design.. this is the best & should really disrupt the pull-up industry.love it.————- 7.2018 UpdateI’ve been using this bar for about a year and updated my review to 5/5.This bar is incredible. The fact that I can unhook it and do angled pull ups (great for my wife), is amazing.I bought an added connection set from the company and locked the bottom part of the bar (when you unlook it and let it swing), so my kids can use it and it won’t swing back and forth now. Simple fix, and makes it much safer, so kids can’t get their fingers caught when it swings, it hasn’t happened but it could. If you want to buy a pull up bar, this is a no brainer, and truly a “perfect” solution.I only wish this was the top list on amazonFor some reason you can’t buy from amazon, but you can buy directly from their website. I’ve referred about 7 people there when they happen to see the bar in my office doorway.Buy it now!————- Original review:I set it up today to replace a non-locking bar that ruined my door frame. This is much sturdier & easier to use. This is more complicated to setup, and i’m nervous about the kids getting their fingers caught due to the moving parts.Excellent instructions, parts, screws, etc. This is my 3rd attempt to find one and this is the best easily.Overall: great unit. I’m going to buy one for a friend as well.

The best doorway pull up bar EVER
The media could not be loaded. I had one of these when I was about 16 years old and it's STILL at my parents house and still useable 10+ years later.I had one of the over-the-door pull up bars at my last apartment but I was always worried I would break the door frame or fall on my back really hard since I like to raise my legs while I'm doing pullups to work some abs at the same time. I never had that concern with the perfect pullup. At my new place, the doors are wider so I felt even less safe with the bars that just hang on the door frame. The perfect pullup is a much safer option for wide doorsThe perfect pulI I had as a kid was a little different but still very similar. I had the one that was all black and the entire bar had a cushion over it. It also had a pair of twisting hooks that you could twist while doing pullups. I broke one of them once and fell pretty bad (didn't hurt myself but it definitely didn't feel good.) So it's probably a good idea that they don't include it anymore.I posted a video of myself doing pullups on this bar and I weigh about 195. The booklet that came with this bar says the max weight is 220lbs. I have no clue how much the weight limit on the previous model was but when I was younger I used to add 50 lbs to a chain while working out. I always weighed between 185-195 so I feel confident that this bar won't break while I'm using it.
