Ghosts in the Sunken Garden: The Founding and Early Years of Emporia State University Paperback – 6 Sept. 2018

This was a quick, easy read--not a stereotypical "history" book. This book had special meaning for me. I'm from Emporia and attended elementary school on the campus of what is now Emporia State University (originally, Kansas State Normal). And, I am friends with the author's family! However, I think many others would enjoy reading this book as it describes the history of Kansas and the logistics involved in establishing a higher level education system in general.
