Are you waiting to hear my review of The King's Scrolls? Well, I'm sorry I've kept you waiting." *smiles sheepishly* "I was a bit preoccupied with the dragons and things. So, you want to know what I thought of the book and of whether or not it is worth your time and money?" *laughs outright*"The second part isn't even a question. It's worth all that and more. But keep in mind, this is just my opinion. You'll have to decide that for yourself. The depth of the characters alone makes this book worth the read.*sighs dreamily* Jace is one of a kind. I've never met (Yes, I said 'met') a character like him. He struggles with so much pain both inside and out, but at the same time he's also one of the strongest characters. Perhaps that's because of all the stuff he's overcome. You can't help but want to give him a hug.Kyrin is also an amazing asset to the book. She is such a strong female character. A breath of fresh air from most of the other prominent female character's I've read. Her faith never falters even through trials. I really admire her love for others.That brings me to the next thing: Faith. As those of you who've read Resistance (and if you haven't yet I strongly suggest you do. BEST BOOK EVER.) already know this book, and the entire series is biased on faith. The people living in the land of Ilyon are being persecuted for their faith in Elom, the one true God. The Kings Scrolls in particular shows the characters trusting in Elom (God) through the tough times. 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.' Proverbs 3:5. God has a plan and a purpose for us, and he is working through us even when it doesn't seem like it.There are many other things I could say about this novel--DRAGONS--but I would rather you found out the rest for yourself.Oh, but I will tell you two cons: the book was entirely too short and now I have to wait around (patiently) for the next one. :) I'd better go now. Kaden mentioned something about taking me flying. I hate heights, but who could refuse a dragon ride? Better warn Kaden though, I don't think he'll be at all pleased if I end up puking on him.:/ Talk about embarrassing."I open The Kings Scrolls again and it appears to you as if I have vanished from right beneath your eyes. I was not prepared for how epic it would actually be. There were dragons. There were scrolls. There were highly realistic characters, all of whom had their own struggles and fights as the story progressed. There were breathtaking moments where I certainly was not expecting the events that appeared. And behind it all, there was a theme of the light versus dark imagery that was clearly illustrated in the people and places described. Overall, it was an amazing tale that carefully balanced the fantasy realm and the truth so that it felt real. Jaye L. Knight is a genius.Highly recommended for everyone!Ysa Rivas (age 15)

The King's Scrolls, the second book in the Ilyon Chronicles was spellbinding. It was very well written and took over very well from the first book Resistance. I actually liked it a lot better than the first book, the progression in the story was wonderful and caught me from the first chapter. I grewvery attached to certain characters, (which is a major plus in my opinion), and found it hard to put the book down once I got into it.The message The King's Scrolls portrays is very strong. The story does not skirt difficult emotions such as pain, sorrow, confusion, anger, or even revenge. The author handles her message with care and precision, and this is what I liked most about the book. Nothing is hopeless, even though it may seem so at first, and everything is possible.Although I found a few aspects of the storyline personally disappointing (I won't give anything away and say what), it still managed to make me a fan of the first two books. I am curious to see what the next four books will bring to this story, I will definitely read this whole series when the rest of the books come out. If this progression keeps up, I can assuredly say I will be a die hard fan by the end of the series.I recommend anyone who enjoys a good story, great action, as well as a strong Christian message to read this book. It is well worth it!

An exciting and engaging 2nd book in the Ilyon series. I am so grateful to the author for leaving it in a satisfied place and not on a cliffhanger

Das Buch ist wirklich toll. Für (christliche) englischlesende Fantasyliebhaber ab zehn Jahren ist dieses Buch sehr empfehlenswert. Ich konnte das Buch kaum mehr aus der Hand legen, denn man muss sich nicht durch lange Erklärungen wälzen, und es ist vom ersten Kapitel an spannend. Allerdings sollte man für die Hintergründe den ersten Band der Ilyon Chronicles namens „Resistance“ gelesen haben. Meine herzlichste Empfehlung! (Elias, 10)

This author is very detailed and realistic and keeps the reader spell bound to the end of the series. By I warn the reader to buy all the books before reading these books.
