Fascinating!
This is a fantastic book. Incredibly well researched, very engaging and full of wonderful photographs and tons of places to visit when the world opens up again! I really like that there are some nuggets of information about well-trodden paths, as well as different areas to explore - I found out new things about places on my own doorstep! There are some walks featured in places I never really intend to visit, but even with these it is very interesting to read who has lived or visited where. A refreshing take on a classic theme, full of inspirational ideas. With thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - White Lion for an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Disappointed
The cover was warped and marked up. That is as far as I have gotten. Disappointed in this especially since it cost almost $40.

It's a virtual hike with heart and without electronics.
500 Walks is a favorite of mine for getting lost in brief excursions and arm chair adventures. I often use it as a starting point, inspiration for my own art journaling explorations. Through bits and pieces that these walks share about the artists and their surroundings, I have added many places to my wish list for travel. This is also a book I send to friends that not only love their own walks in the world but others who are have minimal breaks but could use inspiration for their own visualizations of walks they can use when they need to mentally escape.
