THE best homemade brownies I ever had
This makes any hot cereal taste heavenly - I use it with oatmeal and with cream of wheat. I also got a brownie recipe from one of the first bags I ever bought (from a local health food store in a town where I no longer live). It's a recipe with Marilu Henner's name on it and, I swear to you, THE best homemade brownies I ever had. I normally like 'em a bit fudgier, which you could probably do with Sucanat if you were better at recipe adaptation than I am. These are more cake-like, but still really rich (especially with the molasses-y flavor of this sugar) because they call for Ghirardelli-type dark chocolate chips. The combination of this sugar with that deep dark goodness, seriously amazing. So I can highly recommend Sucanat with any hot cereal and in brownies (or other chocolate baking).

Misleading Quantity in Ad.
I have used this product before and love it for certain baking recipes, but the ad is very misleading as another purchaser stated below. It does clearly say 32oz (Pack of 12) but you only get one 32oz bag. Amazon needs to correct their ad. I also put in for a refund and it was easily given so that was nice.

Very tasty and easy to use
This isn't molasses added to refined white beet sugar like the ordinary brown sugar you buy in the market. It's cane sugar refined only to the extent of creating the dry granules. The molasses AND the various other nutrients are left in place. It isn't as sweet as refined white sugars, but I think it's tastier, and it's easier to sprinkle on things than ordinary sticky brown sugar. The granules are dry and don't stick to the spoon.I originally bought it for my Mexican Coffee recipe, but found that It's great on cereals and for desserts too.I won't buy white sugar any more except to keep a little around for guests or special recipes.

Only 1 Pack of 32oz Received
I was persuaded to purchase this as it's noted to have a "pack of 12" but was upset to discover we only receive one. Caveat emptor. I'm sure they will not ameliorate their mistake or change the item's title. For 12, it's a steal but for one, it's highly overpriced.

Not quite fresh
I suppose this is a great product if fresh, but I would have returned it if I'd taken the time to test it before too much time elapsed. I was keeping it in the refrigerator, though, so whatever was wrong didn't happen here. I recently made a cream desert using this product, and when I tasted it, it smelled spoiled. I thought it was a problem with the cream, but a taste test ruled that out. So I put a spoonful of these granules in my mouth and let it dissolve, and discovered it had a moldy kind of aftertaste. I guess the people who loved it just got a better batch, but I'll be using the rest of mine to fertilize the lawn.

Seems good, but pricey
This seems good. I know that in theory the sucanat is much better than regular sugar. I don't really taste a lot of difference, although I can see the difference in color of rolls, etc. It does seem a little expensive for me to replace all my sugar needs with this though. At almost ten dollars a pound, I would go through this pretty quickly, even though I use honey instead of sugar in a lot of places.

Nice Sweetener
This is a great tasting sweetener. It is still sugar, but at least is is not so processed. It is great for sweetening beverages or anything that needs just a bit of sweetener. I used it in a recipe that called for sugar and it worked just fine. In some cases it may change the flavor of what you are baking. It has a light brown sugar taste. If using in a recipe for the 1st time, just sub out for 1/2 the sugar the first time and go on from there. Love this stuff!!

While the grain of the sugar does look like it was made the proper sucanat/rapadura way (tiny
This is the least pleasant sugar I've had. While the grain of the sugar does look like it was made the proper sucanat/rapadura way (tiny, powdery, inconsistent granules), the color and flavor of the sugar makes me think that molasses was added back into the final product. The Wholesome brand sucanat smells funny and tastes bad in comparison to other sucanat/rapadura sugars and worse than more processed raw or turbinado sugars. If I didn't feel weird about returning an opened food product, I would have sent it back by now. Really disappointed with this sugar. It's only proven to me that popular American brands tend to be s*** compared to unknown/non-popular brands (e.g., Thai Kitchen brand curry paste vs. any non-American brand curry paste).
