Samsung HM1100 Bluetooth Wireless Headset

This is my second Samsung bluetooth headset, as I like to have two headsets in case the battery drains on the other one. This model is loud, clear and has great battery life. It's pretty comfortable on your ear as well. Doesn't take long to charge up. You will literally talk for hours between charges. And the price is affordable for anyone to pick up and buy.

I like that this headset can pair with two devices, but I doesn't want to pair with my iPod touch (2nd gen). I put this receiver in discover mode but the iPod doesn't see it. Was thinking to use it to listen to podcasts & other "voice" files so sound quality wasn't extremely important to me. It does work well enough for me with my Blackberry 8700g. I like the button placement -- very intuitive. I especially like that it charges with Mini USB cable since I seem to have so many of those around from different devices. The volume control doesn't seem to have a wide range (not too loud, not to quiet.

This is the first bluetooth headset I've ever bought - I couldn't be happier. Initially pairing it to my phone was extremely simple, and now, as long as my bluetooth is turned on on my phone, the headset connects automatically when I power it up. Haven't experienced any of the issues I saw in past reviews - people have told me they didn't even notice I was using a headset. Range has been great, often leave my phone sitting in my room and walk all around my apartment and even outside while talking without a problem. Main button functionality is fine - press once to bring up my phone's voice command prompt (in which case I just say something like "Call mom cell"). Hold to redial last number. Press once while on a call to end the call, or hold it to transfer the call from the headset back to your phone. Don't know if these button functions work with other phones - I have an old samsung flip phone, not a smartphone like most. Side volume buttons work well.It says it has the capability of working with two phones at the same time. Haven't tried this, mainly because I don't have two phones, but it's nice to know it has this functionality if I ever get a work phone or something.Don't have much experience with other headsets to compare this one to, but I'll probably buy another one for my car.

I ordered the Samsung HM1100 Bluetooth headset as a replacement for my Plantronics Bluetooth headset. Although the price was $18.00, I was skeptical about its performance, since the Plantronics costs $150.00.Pros:*The Samsung HM1100 Bluetooth headset worked well and its battery life was exceptional.*I liked that I could use my micro UBS charger in my car to charge the headset when the battery is drained.*The unit was very light.*The sound quality was good, but not exceptional. People could hear me well, but I could not hear them well if it is noisy in the car.Cons:*The headset was not comfortable. Sure it's not the best earpiece I've ever had in my life, but I can hear the caller and they can hear me. I do most of my calls on the road and this piece has been working well for about 3 months now. Good purchase!

I bought two of these from Cellularboys. In the past months I had bought two more from other seller. The headsets work great with a Galaxy S and a Blackberry. I never tested connecting two devices at the same time.Unfortunately, for this latter order, one of the headsets did not work out of the box. The microphone does not work, I can hear the other person but they cannot hear me. The items were taken outside the US, so sending the defective item for exchange is not an option.

I just bought this unit, and received it in the mail yesterday.These are my initial thoughts:Pros: Inexpensive, easy to operate, easy to pair up, those that I'm speaking with say the sound is good on their end.Cons: The slender plastic loop that holds the mic in place does not swivel, and in my case, the boom sticks out, pointing away from my face. As such, the ear piece is not fully seated in the ear, and hearing is restricted. Additionally, the very thin loop is comfortable for about the first 30 minutes, then begins to cause a slight irritation, which gets a little worse the longer you wear it. Not progressively worse, but there is a slight pain associated with the very slender loop digging into the back of my ear.Summary: If the loop swiveled, so that I could fully seat the ear piece, that would probably help my ability to hear immensely, and if the loop were covered with a softer material, maybe a foam material, it would not dig into the back of my ear, and would not cause the slight painful sensation. To my way of thinking, it would only cost pennies to re-design the loop, but it would greatly increase the usability and comfort of this unit.

At .3 ounces, this was one of the lightest bluetooth headsets within a reasonable price range. I wear glasses, and wanted a headset that was comfortable. I have found the heavier headsets irritate my ears, probably because the combined weight of my glasses and the headset are resting on my ear.This headset has great sound, and people can hear me fine, even with road noise. Unlike some reviewers, who say they forget they have it on, I know it is there. I can wear it for about an hour before I have to take a break, about three times as long as other headsets I've tried.
