It gonks. It ulates. It makes every note the right note, no matter how wrong it is.
The media could not be loaded. It does the Incubus sound ("Glass") and the Satriani sound from the interstitial bits of The Satch Tapes DVD. It's the perfect thing for when you're bored or stuck in a creative rut. I put it early in my chain so the rest of my effects can have their way with it. I like the old style DOD case without the external battery cover too, which makes it slightly smaller than the 80's DOD pedal style, with the batt cover that gets lost. The controls are easier to read than just about every other pedal I ownI was never a fan of the Grunge pedal, so I don't use much of the onboard distortion typically, and prefer to provide my own. Even with nothing on it, it sounds hilariously awesome, as you can see in the video, and the frequency knob give you plenty to play with if you prefer your music to be more.....ahem....musical.If you love weird, then get this pedal and never look back. I never even considered returning it, from the first note I played. The ultimate weird box.

Not the best ringmod, nor the best distortion...
... but the two together are awesome. It's so nasty! The drive circuit sounds like it is based off the ProCo Rat (I heard it's actually a DOD Grunge pedal in there, which I've never used) and the ringmod is just so out there. It's really fun to put the frequency knob into something dissonant and do some diminished lines. I don't like the blue LED (they're not fun on a dark stage) but I can always replace that with minimal soldering.

Meh.
I know this pedal gets lots of props as a cool weird pedal from the 90s, but compared to some of the amazing boutique pedals available today its nothing special. A distortion circuit sits parallel to a Ring Mod. This is nice, because you can dial in the Ring Mod mix for some more musical effects. I guess my real problem with this pedal is that I don't like the distortion circuit. I wish it was more trebly or fuzz like. It's definitely capable of some unique tones, but there are better weird pedals out there for the same price point.

Not for the faint of heart.
Like weird sounds? This pedal has them. Moving the tuner for the ringmod to the front made this pedal solid gold. DOD's new reissues have been amazing.
