Anatomy of a situational terrorist
Firstly this is not a happy movie and has a fair bit of violence in it. It isnt a comfortable movie and you may want to avoid it if you like the more romantic song and dance afre Bollywood often serves. It examines how ordinary people may get caught up in terrorism and how terrorists are made and manipulated. It is also about the complexity of factors that produces a terrorist from competing interest groups, to political puppeteers to thugs looking for a way to use their muscle. However it is also very much about the effects on the families when their sons get caught up in this and the ripple effect of more angst brought to the families they are supposedly trying to protect. While Hrithik does fine, as does Jaya Bachchan, this movie it is really Kareena's movie (after all she plays Fiza too). She does a fine job with the diverse requirements of this role and goes up in my estimation.I bought this following Hrithik's movies through and from the high ratings it was given. However it was a harrowing movie with its relentless subject matter. It tries to look at the complexity of the situation and doesn't give any easy answers and actually left me saddened by the overall pointlessness of all this loss of life in eventual outcomes. It did concern me in view of the recent Mumbai terrorist attacks and Indian riots, whether making some of these terrorists heroic in some ways may fuel the fires and the feelings of justification even more. This movie shows there may be justification for the feelings of powerlessness that spark this violence but I hope they don't shape the revenge and feelings of entitlement even more. Hrithik's character turns into a good looking, buffed powerful-looking competent figure (despite the overall view of his life and the movies conclusion)- which may be a hope and a role model to those frustrated by these situations. This isn't a movie you watch for song and dance numbers - though Kareena did one more interesting one. I found the music unmemorable and ended up fast forwarding through some of the numbers. If you are a Hrithik fan you may collect it anyway but I don't think it's one of his more cherished performances. Perhaps I just didn't like seeing him going to the dark side and so lost!I'm giving it a 4 on acting and execution of its subject. However I don't think 'enjoyable' is the right word and I felt the focus was a bit confusing at times; diluting the emotional power of the movie on me personally. Perhaps this is a good thing. The more powerful ones often lead you deeply in a direction they want you to go in. Whereas this one tries to look at complexity and make you think more.

A sad victim of circumstance
This movie will give you something to think about. In our world, when a group of people act out violence, murder, and death against their government, they are quickly referred to as "terrorists". How convenient that is for a government to cover up their own bloody tracks. When innocent people become victims of their own corrupted government, some people will decide that they just "don't want to take it anymore!" Some countries are ruled by very evil people. And when an innocent person or family experiences a traumatic lost to their family or friends, they may be sought out and recruited by a group of people who were also hurt by a corrupted government. People will seek their own personal justice, especially when they have nothing else to lose.Hrithik Roshan plays Fiza's older brother Aman. An innocent man who joins a legion of people out to fight for their own justice against their own government. They get labeled as "terrorists" because the government controls the media.Though Hollywood in America makes films about terrorism, they never really show these victims of circumstance as people who had enough of their own corrupted government. Bollywood may look a little unprofessional in it's acting and production, but the stories are more true than any american film will show you about the ugly world of law and order in other countries.Bollywood offers more than just entertainment, it reveals some of the ugly truths about government and the lack of freedom some countries strive to endure in.This film stars Hrithik Roshan (every girl's favorite Bollywood actor), plus Karisma Kapoor, Neha, and Jaya Bachchan. Are you aware that Hrithik Roshan has a double thumb on his right hand? My wife and I watch his films. I have many of his films. My wife loves him. I like to catch and freeze frames where you can see his second thumb. That's part of the fun I have with this film and some of his others. Also, the song "Mehboob Mere" is really cool. The main girl here is former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen. She's gorgeous!Check out Bollywood films. Bollywood stars are always good looking people.

A Great, But Sad Movie
I just got finished watching Fiza a few hours ago. I'm not Indian, but I love the films, so for anyone who is not Indian and thik for whatever reason u won't be able to grasp anything, that's not true at all. I bought this particualr one for one reason: Hrithik Roshan (batting of eyelashes)...but seriously, besides his incredibly good looks and gorgeous eyes, he is a really good actor, very believeable. In this movie his character is different than the others I've seen (and i think i've seen all except for 3 or 4)...at first everything is kewl and then a drastic dark turn happens...and then when there's light, the darkness comes again...throughout the movie i'm like "this isn't happening...this can't happen!" And the ending - wow, I didn't expect it. The other films of Hrithik's usually have bad situations that eventually gets worked out and the ending is a good ending. Not this movie, and it shocked me. I'm waiting for more to happen, thinking there was some good twist in it or something...but nope, just a bad ending...it was a good ending, but i mean it wasn't a happy ending. All i have to say is poor Fiza. She went through hell in this movie and was never allowed time to recover any of it...not even by the end. Overall, great movie...i give it 5 stars. The songs and dancing weren't as good as in other movies...i liked the first one, the love song with Hrithik...but the other ones i just fast forward through, especially since the movie was so good and i wanted to hurry up and go to the next scene. But I recommend this movie, definately.
