They definitely kick in quickly, usually within an hour, and they help me fall asleep when I am not naturally tired. So they do what they are supposed to do. The problem is the flavor and the aftertaste. It lingers, and not in a good way. I keep water nearby so I can wash it down immediately. If you care more about effectiveness than taste, these will get the job done. If you want something that actually tastes good, I would look for a different brand.
