DIRECTED ELC 570T Remote Start System

This product does not work on cars with a chip in the key, you need to buy a special module that handles the key code.I found it took a long time to get this installed and working in a jeep grand cherokee, it would have been better to go to a specialty store and buy the install. After buying schematics and struggling through all the wiring issues it was not worth it.

I had electronic express install this for me and it has been working great. No bells or whistles, just a remote start and keyless entry. I do wish the remote made an audible noise when you start your car. As it is right now it is a little difficult to know if your car has started or not if you aren't close enough to the vehicle to hear the engine fire up. The range is good, I have started my car from a 100 yards away with little or no obstructions in the way. Overall I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone not wanting to spend a lot of money but still want remote start and keyless entry.

I've had four of these, one install and I've installed three myself. I buy these because I know that they work. I don't buy any remote start unless it is a Directed anymore. I've had others and they didn't work as long. The Directed have worked for years now. Just install one about a month ago.The Hornet remote start is getting hard to find. Directed don't sell them anymore. However, they do sell other Directed brands. As long as it is a Directed,. I will try it.

Good product

This thing works great. The instructions are easy to follow and the remote has a pretty decent range on it. The remote works through the walls of my house and across a parking lot easily. Finding the right wires to tie in to would have been a pain but I found a site ([...]) that had the locations of all the wires I needed. An easy afternoon job for a do it yourselfer.Update: 3 months later. It still works but it does have some issues. Sometimes the starter won't disengage after the engine catches. It shuts itself down after a few seconds of this. It only did this a few times so far.Update: 1 year later. Sometimes the starter still won't disengage. Only happens once in a while. Then the next morning when I try it again it works fine. A small inconvenience for the price.
