I used this to cut out cake rounds to make a smash cake. It worked well for that. It’s deeper than round cookie cutters that I have and was able to cut all the way through a two inch cake.

Perfect! Shipped in only a padded envelope but arrived without any damage. Used it to help shape scone dough into rounds before cutting into wedges. Sturdy and released dough easily. Great purchase!

Line this with parchment paper, and you have the perfect boundary for a mini loaf of homemade sourdough (1 1/2C flour)! I searched for a year for a way to split my 3C sourdough recipe into 2 small round loaves. Whenever I simply placed the smaller amount in a dutch oven, it would spread wider than it would rise tall. This allows a way to do it easily. I bought two of these, and can use them both in my 7 qt oval dutch oven to make 2 loaves at a time. I've also had success using only one of them in a 3 qt or 5 qt round dutch oven. The dough will rise above the 3 inch height of the ring and bake to beautiful golden brown on both the top and bottom. The sides will stay lighter and softer. I'm very happy with these baking rings!
