The Catholic Hymnal: Hymns for Congregational and Home Use

I love ALL Christian music, and am learning more Catholic hymns than I ever knew as a Lutheran, and then Baptist, and then Pentecostal, and now Catholic. I play the organ for the early mass, and sometimes people come to me with tears in their eyes, because they love the old hymns, and the hymns speak to their hearts. This hymnal is more great Catholic music.

This is a reprint of an old book from 1884. Bad printing of stale hymns. A waste of paper.

I wanted old church songs I grew up with and I did not recognize one song in this entire book.Not a fan of this book at all.

The Imprimatur date is 1884. The Publisher should have made it clear it is an HISTORICAL book. I'm 72, and I only recognized a few hymns. Yes the date is 1884

Hard to read the music while playing on the piano. None of the songs are the current music played in the catholic church, felt like this was music from the 70s-80s.

I was very disappointed in the hymnal as it featured old British hymns and nothing of the newer hymns or ones that are sung in the American churches.
