Best for DIY toner pad
I usually don’t leave reviews, but this one is chef’s kiss 🤌 For people saying it’s too thin or not suitable for rubbing on your face, that’s because you’re not supposed to use it that way! What I do is put about a quarter of the cotton pads into a clean, properly sanitized container, then pour in toner. These pads absorb and hold the toner really well and stick nicely to my skin. They’re amazing for my skincare routine and perfect before makeup to cool and prep the skin. Highly recommend!

Great for Reducing Product Waste
I like these pads. They're pretty thin, but not too hard to work with either for my face toner. They absorb the liquid well and really hold onto it, so that you can actually apply it to your face easily instead of absorbing it all into the pad. I recently started using a really expensive toner, and that's how I learned that cotton pads are going to make a big difference for me - much less product waste with these. I tried like 3 other brands before this and I like these the best so far. They're pretty soft, but not too soft - completely lint free. I don't actually care for really soft pads, so I think these are perfect.

The Great Face Pad Fail 😭
I was disappointed with these cotton pads. I had high hopes for them, but they have pretty much been a complete letdown for me. The main issue is how poorly they perform. They are incredibly thin and feel flimsy, making them difficult to use effectively. They fall apart as you're swiping your face with them. When saturated with a peel or essence, they lose all their integrity, making your application a FRUSTRATING mess. The only nice feature is that they don't soak up and waste product like a thick cotton pad can. You'll end up having to use two or three pads anyways to get the job done properly, which means you will run out of the box twice as fast. That's incredibly inefficient if you ask me. I tried to see if I could think of something useful for them but my thinker is broken when it comes to this product. If you tried real hard, which you cant because you absolutely have to be gentle- to be as light as a feather, they might work for your light or "mask-type" application of toner or essence. Or you can just do yourself a favor and search for something else. Search for something that is lint-free, non-tearing or esthetic wipes.

Real Cotton Pads for Face
These cotton pads were nice to use for the face and neck

Okay, but room for improvement
Soft but very very VERY thin. It was easy to use less product but also awkward to hold while trying not to have it roll up some as you move around. It slows me down considerably and while these are super soft and nice quality I wouldn’t repurchase these. If they were a little bit larger for me to more firmly keep it in place between my fingers I would like them more.

Very efficient for applying skin care
This was my first time buying Korean cotton pads. I used to just pour products on my face like I’d seen it done on social media but I knew that was wasteful, until I’d learned of Korean cotton pads. American cotton pads are so thick so the product mostly absorbed and stays on the pad and you end up using and wasting more. Korean cotton pads are paper thin. To me, it is still too big so I cut everything in half. Because it’s thin, it doesn’t absorb much of the product, I just kinda let it glide with the product across the skin. The half size pad is enough to apply skin care product. It is not meant to remove makeup, as you will need friction, and therefore, a thicker pad, and for that, the western cotton pad.

Flimsy AF
These are paper thin and roll up when you add any liquid and try to rub across your skin. If you use 2 at a time it helps, but still terrible quality compared to other brands. Will not purchase again.

I never knew I could feel so strongly about a cotton pad!
The Rael Beauty facial pads are, I think, my favorite pads I have ever tried. They only pill after heavy use (on my face, neck, chest, AND arms), and when they do, the pilling doesn't flake off onto the skin but rather stays attached to the pad. They are very slim, so one package will last me a much longer time than any amount of typical cotton pads even taking up twice the amount of space. Lastly, they are very effective at dispersing product, so I go through my chemical exfoliant much more slowly than before, which I am very happy with. They are also visually pleasing, at least as far as a product like this can go. If you are worried about going zero-waste, I still recommend getting reusable facial pads. I was going to go this route, but I am not convinced there is a reusable pad out there that has such a nice sensorial experience and spreads my facial product so effectively. And as I only use facial pads for my chemical exfoliant, about twice a week, this box will easily last me a year, which is much lower waste than other cotton pads where I would have to use 2-3 since they'd dry up and start pilling horribly. If I could only make one request, it would be for the brand to switch to hemp instead of cotton- hemp is much more environmentally sustainable than cotton, and much more financially viable (3x higher yield and requires much less water and pesticides). Hemp has had a pretty intense smear campaign against it in the past by cotton and paper companies because it is such a better material, by falsely associating it with drugs. But with the zero-waste movement becoming popular as more people are environmentally aware, an accessible and trendy brand like Rael could be the first in on a widely accessible hemp face pad, which would give them great business with the ever growing environmentally-conscious market for a fraction of the production costs. All the same, unless I find some hemp pads that provide an experience as good as these with a similar cost, these will be my go-to cotton pads, something I never knew I could be so particular with!
