Looks great, shady and waterproof!
Bought this for a week-long outdoor summer festival where the weather was going to be dicey from day to day. This little beauty gave me shade from the hot sun and protection from the middling rain (still would recommend a standard umbrella for heavy precipitation). The lace cover dried quickly and didn't wilt or distort or discolor. Lightweight and easy to carry, fairly easy to open and close with a little practice. Plus I got TONS of compliments! Definitely recommend for anyone who wants a statement piece for an outdoor event, a period costume, or a unique accessory. (Also the black and silver design I got is DELICIOUSLY gothic, it's just perfect!)

Regal and royal
Easy to open, and high quality. I used this for a photo shoot. Very classy and elegant. I will use again for any occasion it would fit in.

Perfect picture umbrella
This beautiful umbrella was the perfect prop for a 15th photoshoot. The color was the same as pictured in the image and it provided the shade during the hot sunny weather.

Lovely, AND functional!
I sunburn easily, and bought this folding option in the dark blue to try for a recent Disney World (Florida) trip, instead of my standard full-size, non-folding parasols. It worked like a dream - no burn, and lots of compliments! Per the directions provided, it is a little fussy to get folded completely back up, so it's not as fast to open and close as a standard rain umbrella. During the trip, I mostly kept the ribs at their full length, and only folded it up completely to pack it into my suitcase. I will be purchasing other colors! My only wish is that the lighter colored uppers could have a lighter colored under-layer, and still provide the same sun protection. The black lining is a harsh look under the pastel options... but my happily un-sunburned self can live with that!

I'm at a loss how to fully open this... but then there is the tag
It looks like it will be pretty and handle different kinds of weather... but someone please tell me how to attach the spokes making it open correctly. I will get one attached, then go to another spoke... and as soon as I get that one hooked up, the one I just attached popped out. Its like a weird umbrella game of whack a mole. This is horrible! Help! Anyone out there have answers? I'm listening. Nikki Bozek Still bewildered by the working of this umbrella, but I can say I found the incredibly small tag that gives directions how to open and close. However, the print is very, very, very, very, very , very, tiny, teeny... I defy anyone to be able to read it without the aid of reading glasses, a magnify glass, or Lasik surgery. The photos are just as difficult to interpret. I'll bump this up to 3 stars... but really, it takes work to first get it open and instructions are vaguely helpful. Nikki Bozek

Pretty & functional
Bought 2. One was perfect & the other was likely returned & somewhat broken. Needed for an event the next day so decided to just fix it. The umbrellas are beautiful & served it's purpose to keep the sun off us at the Renn Faire. At first I was disappointed that it wasn't a full length umbrella when folded, however it was easier to carry at the fair when not in use in the pretty bag with a clip to hang on my belt.

Perfect for Lavender Festival
This was perfect for the occasion the black UV backing kept the sun from scorching me on a literal 100 degree day! It was unique and stood out in crowed, I received compliments from the time I arrived to the time I left. This was perfect for the occasion the black UV backing kept the sun from scorching me on a literal 100 degree day! It was sturdy and I had no issues with opening or closing that was mentioned in some reviews. Overall very happy with this and will use throughout the summer!

It's pretty.
Beyond that, I'm still debating whether or not to return it. This makes me sad, because once open, this is really pretty and seems to do it's "keep me cool" job admirably. HOWEVER: Every folding umbrella I've ever had has a button that releases a spring that unfolds it. Somehow, I expected, for the price, for this to have a similar mechanism. It does not. It's a flimsy, mechanical, push up. You need to manually unfold the spines and lock them into place and repeat the process to fold it back up. I got it for walking daily in the sun. I can leave it unfolded in the mudroom for that and because of that, I'll probably keep it...because it is VERY pretty, and I wanted something silly and pretty and very UN-me. But for everyday use, possibly folding and unfolding several times a day...no, I can't recommend it.
