This is perfect! It's super easy to install, color matches perfectly and YES, you can close armrest with it on. I needed this but figured I was probably the only one on the planet. I mean, my Bulldog stands on the armrest and I was worried that eventually her claws would do damage. I tried to think of what I could use...I even bought a toilet lid cover...but nothing worked. Then, on a whim, I tried Amazon and found this. It arrived quickly, had instructions and even a handwritten "Thank You"(Don't get this much, but it's appreciated when you do). The color matches so well that no one would even notice it. For those who said it doesn't close, mine does without a problem. Just a very little extra push closes the console with no problem. I wish these folks made everything I buy.

Con:The cover is designed such that the neoprene is sewn doubled around the elastic band. This is too thick when sandwiched under the center console lid, as the lid will not latch without a two handed effort. I am able to get it to latch, if I use both hands to pull the cover out away from underneath the console lid and close it. This is a great nuance, especially while driving. I've considered simply leaving the lid unlatched, but fear I could place too much side to side strain on the lid as I move around, get in and out. (I am a big man: 6'10", 300 lbs.)On the plus side:The cover has prevented any stains or abrasions from developing on my console lid. The neoprene has repelled (at least initially) the few spills that have occurred. It has provided me with plenty of time to wipe/ soak up the mess before working its way through the neoprene to the console lid material.It would be an all around great product had it been designed such that it did not interfile with the proper workings of the console lid.

The material is soft, smooth and craftsmanship is top notch. I really like the product except that the latch will not close when you shut the lid of the armrest.So, if you are ok with that then this is the product for you otherwise you may not like it.

I mistakenly ordered the dark gray rather than the black, but I love this product. My dog likes to stand on the center armrest and her claws destroyed the last car I had. This will keep our new car looking good and she can still stand where she wants.

The reason I got this is because I take my dog in the car a lot, and he likes to go back and forth between the back and front passenger seats sometimes. This cover fits pretty well and protects the leather from my dog's claws. It's a simple product that can keep your console looking good over time.
