    works well, the IR receiver is just a little to big to make it discrete

I use these for installs where the IR receiver doesn't need to be totally hidden.  It's a little bulky and hard to hide since it needs to be seen.  It looks a little different in the picture here.  I'm able to keep the equipment in a cabinet or a closet and connect the IR hub to the IR receiver in front of the tv.  Usually using cat5e cable that was pre-wired.  I use Xantech's IR kit when the requirement is for the slender look, cost more, but can be hidden better.
