Horizons Health 6th Grade Set

Exactly what I was looking for! Haven’t gotten very far into it but I love everything so far!

This is a great curriculum. Make sure you talk to you 6th grader about sex before it does come from a Christian perspective so no worries there but they do talk about it 1/2 through. Just a heads up.

This health book set is over the top puritanical. I wanted a Christian approach to our health lessons and apparently that means we talk about the "changing feelings" that puberty brings and then skip right to a brief, poorly illustrated diagram of a developing fetus and then...that's it. Once you hit puberty- mystery! - then, developing baby - and tons of outdated info about AIDS - gasp! "Be warned, kids! Those hormones will get you immediately pregnant (we know not how) and give you this one STD that's super scary."I realize that people often want the details taught at home but... that's part of why I bought this book. So we'd have something to use as part of our at-home discussion. I'm irritated that it pretends sex doesn't exist but is also terrifyingly dangerous. I don't think that's a very healthy approach.
