Very Good Introduction for the Novice
I think this book is an excellent introduction to computing for any novice. If you have not been into computers for a while it is a good refresher. The book is written on a very conversational style and is easy to read. I liked the quizzes throughout the book to check my comprehension. Each of the topics that the author touches on are whole areas of study and expertise within themselves. Solid, simple overviews are given which will give the reader a basic understanding of the topics. Even though I have been "in the business" for a while I still picked up a few things.

A great introduction to computer science
I read it once. I must learn this book. The staggering gap in my knowledge; about all things to do with computing, looks traversable with this book.I am relieved that I bought it.

Informative
Covered a wide variety of basic IT areas for beginners. Great as a refresher, or for someone looking to begin this career path.

Very useful.
I'm starting an IT Support program and this book helped me a lot. It explains the topics in a easy way even if you don't know anything about IT. I'd give a couple more stars if it had some more pictures. I recommend.

A SELF-PUBLISHED BOOKS LACKING ANY REAL VALUE
I don't want to be too hard on Eric Frick, who may be a great guy and a talented instructor. But the book is self-published and I suspect there was no second reader. There are several typos and grammatical errors. I would not recommend this to someone interested in building a solid IT foundation. His writing style flows easily enough, but there aren't many details to reward the time invested. He touches on some key points, but leaves out essential details. There's no index either.

Hideous. My 89 year old uncle could write a better book about computers and tech.
The book is so shallow that I read 81 pages in 34 minutes. I am not kidding. I am not even a fast reader. THis is how empty and meaningless this book is.
