Bath Bombs Gift Set for Men and Women - The Burghfield Selection of Moisturizing Bath Melts from Berkshire Spa

My brother-in-law likes to take baths, but I felt weird getting him something filled with bath bombs that are pink or girly. We found these, and I was so excited. Other "man" bath bombs are really expensive, so I was worried these wouldn't be a good quality, but he loved them. He even sent us a picture of one of them fizzing in the bath (thankfully he wasn't in the tub at the time!). They have a really nice, earthy scent that isn't overwhelming, and while I got them for him, I would've been fine using them myself!

I was expecting something a little more oil infused - they are essentially bath bombs in a puck mold. Each has decent fragrance, although I found the combinations a little... Off? Yeah. Didn't really enjoy the scent or the plant detritus cleanup a whole lot.Each puck lasted under a minute in my bath water.I won't be buying these again, but they did feel good overall. While I personally didn't find the scent combinations that enticing, others might find their sharp/calming effects up their alley.

***UPDATE*** After viewing the below comment and receiving an email from Sheila, I realized that I misunderstood what the product is actually supposed to do. I was initially reviewing these as bath bombs instead of bath melts (an alternative to bath bombs.) These melts are not supposed to fizz in the same way that bath bombs are so it is unfair for me to take off stars for something that a product isn't supposed to be able to do in the first place. It's obvious that this company truly cares about their customers and their happiness and I have a lot of respect for them because of that. I'm editing my review to 4 stars based on my new knowledge, but will leave my initial review below so that my update and the added comments all make sense. It will be an education experience for everyone!I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this bath bomb set, but I was pretty disappointed. I take baths frequently and am willing to pay a good amount for decent bath bombs. I don't think the price is too high, I was just not happy with their performance. There are a couple really good things about these, but then a few bad that really dropped their rating in my book. I'll start with the good:1) There is a toothpick included for each bath bomb making them easy to open when you're ready to use them.2) They really did leave my skin feeling silky and smooth after my bath. It felt wonderful during my bath and I could tell that the oils and butters in the bomb were definitely working and that part was very relaxing.The bad:1) The scents. I thought that the sweeter scents would mix well with the earth scents, but instead the herbs overpowered the softness of the sweet scents. They reminded me of how elderly people's houses smell. Even my boyfriend commented on it when he got home a couple hours after my bath. I do realize though that people have different tastes and a lot of the reviewers truly liked the scent of these, but they really just didn't appeal to me.2) I probably would have rated these bombs at 4 stars (even despite not liking the scents as that is personal preference) if the following had not occurred. When I put the bomb in the water, it fizzed and dissolved all within 15-20 seconds. I thought maybe that bomb was defective so I tried another one the next night and the exact same thing happened. I enjoy the fizziness of bath bombs and most of them that I use give me a good 1-2 minutes of fizz. I know that bath bombs lose their fizziness after about 6 months, but I saw in the description that these are made in small batches so I don't think that's what happened in this instance.I purchased this item at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review. Unfortunately, they just weren't the quality that I was hoping for.

The Burghfield Selection: 1x each of Lavender and Wild Sage, Chamomile and Lime, Clary Sage and Bergamot, and Grapefruit and Basil(+) High-quality, lovely 'true' scent profiles made with organic ingredients, and excellent customer service from Berkshire Spa(+) I can't decide which is my favorite scent. I use essential oils daily (in diffusers, making mixtures for spray bottles and rollers, mixing with raw shea butter, and in home-made cleaning supplies), and these scents are very 'true': they smell like what they should, with no harsh chemical additives that so many cosmetics companies add to 'enhance' the scents. There is a subtle and long-lasting scent profile for each of the bath melts.(+) Each melt is easy to break into either halfs, quarters, or thirds - depending on the size of your tub, how intense you want the scent, etc. That makes these last a long time.(+) There is no oily coating or residue left on the sides or bottom of the tub after your bath.(+) Read carefully: If you want a fizzy, dynamic, bubbling bath bomb, this is not the product for you. These are bath melts, meant to dissolve in the hot water and provide an aromatic experience and also softening your skin with the essential oils.(+) These make beautiful hostess gifts. The box comes completely wrapped in clear protective wrapping, so you can see and smell the melts. I added a ribbon and a card. The presentation is beautiful so you don't need to wrap the box in addition to how it's already presented.(+) Customer service: The original box of bath melts arrived very damaged. Berkshire Spa immediately replied to my email, did an exchange of the box, and was courteous, prompt and polite the whole way through. It's refreshing to have a company that stands behind their product and is so responsive to customers.The bottom line: These may become my go-to for upscale hostess gifts.*I received the bath melts for evaluation and review.

Smell is divine! I love the organic smell and bath booms are the boom! I have a very large tub and in the winter I take a bath almost every evening to just unwind from the day. These are the perfect addition to my routine. They were much bigger than I thought. I was given a discount to try these and review them, super glad, cause I now know what to get my Mom for Christmas!
