Got it for use with my new pole saw and extension attachments. My Echo owner manuals mentioned this thing but it was not provided and there was no part number. Took a while to figure out what to get but I got this and it works well.

I just bought a new Echo SRM-266 and needed one of these for my shoulder strap. Echo weedeaters no longer come with a harness ring. So I went online and found this one. I'm generally a bit nervous about ordering items through Amazon from a third-party vendor because I have been ripped off before, but, this time I was pleasantly surprised. This Echo Harness Ring was exactly what I was wanting. It's just as strong and heavy-duty as the original harness ring I have been using for over 10 years. And it came with instructions from Echo how to put it on (though I didn't need that). Still very satisfied with this purchase.

I was a little worried about havinv to take the string trimmer apart to install this. But the instructions were spot on and the product fits perfectly.

Had to take the head and handle off of the weedeater to install but not a hard job. The metal is way to stiff to just slide over the shaft so thats not an option here. 2 bolts and the head slid right off and the handle comes off with 2 bolts also. 15 minute job maximum. Just make sure when you slide the head off to not pull the drive cable out of the lower half of the shaft.

I put it on my weed eater and started trimming. About 20 minutes in it fell apart. I had not been watching the nut/bolt and they separated. It should have a locking nut that I will find at the hardware store and try again. I like the unit as it will open to accommodate “any” trimmer, but if it falls apart it does not matter what it accommodates.

Instead of taking the entire head off of my weedeater, I pride the ring open as far as I could to slide over the shaft, and then used a pair of pliers to close it back and then was able to run the bolt into the nut to tighten it up. other than that, it works great
