My favorite!

"The Little Drummer Boy" has always been one of my favorite specials. I've watched it ever since I was at least four or five years old when my mother would rent the Family Home Entertainment VHS from our local library. Eventually we got our own copy on VHS. Now that I'm on my own, I got it on DVD for myself. It takes me back to when I was younger, and the climactic scene where Aaron plays his drum for the baby Jesus brings tears to my eyes sometimes.The reason I give this DVD four stars is because the restored version jacks up the sound effects from the original. Some sound effects are omitted, such as the cooing of the baby Jesus, the collapse of the tent Ali was setting up, or the beating of Aaron's drum during "Why Can't The Animals Smile". Also, a male voice narrates the line "And as Aaron looked at the babe, he thought Him the most beautiful sight he had ever seen." Not sure why Classic Media replaced Greer Garson's recording of this line, it wasn't necessary."The Little Drummer Boy" brings back a lot of memories for me, and it will always be a favorite special for me. I just wish Classic Media hadn't jacked around with the sound effects during the restoration process. I much prefer the "unrestored" version.

Not easy to find,,but I enjoy giving this to the children in the family to watch,,as it is based on the true meaning of Christmas

I recommend this....... If you like old claymation movies and the price is right You may want to add this to your video collection....... I suggest checking the region that you Live in........ this video plays well in Regent one North America and Canada

I quite enjoyed watching it and look forward to showing it to the children at Christmas

Grandson loves it

I loved this Christmas movie has a kid. Bring's back good memories that I can now share with my kids.It say's remastered but it looks and sound the same but honestly nostalgia doesn't care.

Ok, by today's standards, the movie is old-fashioned and stiff, and it does not really impress my children very much. But since I saw it on television in my own early childhood days, this little film has stayed in my memory as one of the characteristic Christmas stories, and every few years I still enjoy digging it out and watching it during the Christmas season.
