Seal failed, water got in, rusted internals. Came apart ok although there’s no line of site from the end to get a torx allen style key in, had to use torx bit and an 8(?) mm spanner but as you undo the screw it winds out onto the body so you can’t fully remove the screw with the bit all the way, so had to use pliers with a rag on the jaws πŸ˜„ see how the warranty works out now thenMy size 12s always mean I have to ride a bit pigeon toed or my heals catch the cranks. Not with these in large. Nice natural potion for the feat. Big platform. Shallow depth. Loads of grip … but careful you don’t catch the grub screw studs with they are sharp. Maybe they will wear in but if you pedal strike the ground that could break a grub screw and give a lethal edge maybeThey did not tighten fully home in the crank arms tough which is odd.
