Bought as a gift...now I want one, too
I bought this as a Christmas gift for a senior lady who loves cardinals, and also believes they are signs that a loved one is sending a greeting, or is actually visiting. The ornament comes with a little poem about this "legend". However, you don't have to subscribe to this belief to appreciate how pretty this suncatcher/tree ornament is. It is much nicer looking in person. I was relieved since the price for the cardinal was rather low, and I've seen ornaments of this kind (even plastic or resin ones) go for at least double what I paid for this one. The cardinal is made from resin, but looks like real glass, and comes with a gift box. I love birds in general, and think I would like to buy another if these to hang in my craft room window. One thing I do want to mention is that the seller advertises the item as "designed in the USA)...well, that usually means it was MADE somewhere else, or it would say "Made in the USA". This isn't an issue with me, as long as the quality is good, but I know a lot of folks prefer to buy American. Since I don't have the item, and didn't look, I can't say where this is actually manufactured. The company itself (Westmon) is located in Michigan.
