Xander's Cerebral Palsy Superpowers (One Three Nine Inspired)

Besides the easy-to-understand medical terms and explanations, what I really appreciate about this book is that it encourages kids to be helpful and friendly to children with CP. While I think Xander's book would be meaningful for a child with this condition, it's also needed for the rest of us as we educate our kids on the challenges they face.Cute pictures, concise descriptions and to-the-point helpful hints. A great resource!

Wow. This book blew me away. The content is educational, but it is delivered in a fun, and easy-to-follow way for children (and adults!) I learned a lot from this book (I didn't know much about CP before reading it), and really enjoyed the process.I'm a huge fan of Lori's books and believe every child should read them. These books will undoubtedly open any child's eyes to what it means to have the conditions discussed in the books.Two EXTREMELY enthusiastic thumbs up!!

Lori does a beautiful job of breaking down Cerebral Palsy for those of us who are uneducated in this area. I especially love the Helpful Hints for Friends so adults and kids can learn what they can do to help another person with CP. Xander's Cerebral Palsy Superpowers opened my eyes to the challenges of people with CP as well as what tools they have to deal with daily life. The illustrations are gorgeous and charming and it feels as if Lori & Roksana worked in perfect partnership with the content and illustrations. A great book for the home and the classroom!

A beautiful book that shows some of the strengths and some of the struggles of kids with CP. Kids and adults will enjoy. Includes ways that CP is different, one person to the next, much of which I did not know. Lots of “tips for friends” to help them understand some of the differences and what to do in various circumstances...how to help, etc. Above all it encourages kindness and being a good friend to others who might be a little different than you. - Neal O.

I was glad to be educated about the different kinds of CP, symptoms and tools to help. It is always good to see someone with 'super' powers that give them s boost as they live their unique life.

Another AH-MAZING book in this series of highlighting children with differences! How fantastic to have these books to share with families and students. I look forward to every book published! The artwork is beautiful! The author has a gift of words making the typically complicated explanations of disabilities simple for every level of reader to understand.

What a sweet book for everyone to learn about special needs and the things require to live and be strong with cerebral palsy.

We need more books like this to open our eyes to the world. There is such a lot of information about differently abled children. But there isn't a traditional 'story' as such so I would choose carefully which age group to read this to.

This wonderfully bright and cheerful book is a great way to discuss “different abilities” with kids or even adults. This particular book is about Xander, a kid with Cerebal Palsy. He explains what this means and how it affects him, as well as telling us about the many superpowers he has - like his Persistant Positive Attitude, and about his Superhero Equipment and Special Forces Team of therapists.I loved the added Question and Answers section, allowing kids to see that it’s OK to ask questions about Xander, and the many Helpful Hints For Friends notes - letting kids know how they can be a good friend and include kids with Cerebal Palsy in their games and activities.The book is beautifully laid out and illustrated, and will make a great addition to any home or school library. Very highly recommended.

Excellent explanations on CP, great to explain CP to all children and I imagine a great confidence boost for children with CP.

This is an absolutely beautiful book. It is so informative and is delivered in such a fantastic way. I definitely recommend it!
